This is a big decision for OB as, depending on how we go, who he picks at 6 may be what we stick with for the rest of the year.
I think Crossland and Hoy is the way to go for 6 and 14. Not sure which is which though. If it’s Crossland at 6, depending on how we are looking at the 25-30 min mark, we can move Hoy to 6 and Cross to 9 (if we don’t look good) or Hoy to 9 and Mann to roam (if going good, leaving Cross at 6).

Given the state we are currently in re attack, and proximity to semis, as an option for 6, I’d prefer:

1. Lino (with the added GK plus)
2. Crossland
3. Hoy
distant 4. Mann

Mann should stay at 9, regardless of who is slotted.

Yeah I’m more inclined to go with Lino at this stage given his goal kicking is probably worth an extra 4 points per game as well, considering how Ponga has been kicking.

I know people go on about his defence not being great but Green’s defence wasn’t great either and it didn’t stop AOB signing him. Also everyone criticised Mann’s defence last year but he’s been way better this year so I’m not going to be too harsh on Lino given he’s hopefully improved his D under AOB anyway.

Also at least Lino gives us another genuine kicking option both long and short which is important.

I’m also not against Crossland playing 6 given its supposed to be his natural position but for some reason he’s been marked as a future 9? Not sure what the deal is there but would be interesting to see him get a few games at 6 if Lino isn’t being considered.

Lino seems to play on the right, where Pearce plays. Perhaps that's another factor why he doesn't get picked.

How have we gone at Scully Park in the past...I seem to recall it being a bit of a happy hunting ground for the Knights?

I'm a bit surprised with Lino at 6. I thought he was an outsider with possibly a bench spot.
It makes a lot of sense though.
Geez I hope he performs.

At least there's little disruption to the rest of the team. No swapping half a dozen players to accommodate 1 position like last seasons fiasco in that regard.

I wonder of Ponga at 65% retains the goal kicking.

Happy with this and I hope Lino kicks (general play and goal kicking).

hope he goes well, I think we’ll all be happy with him, I have confidence he’s going to do good.

I'm happy with him, I dont think his defense is too bad, he did have some lapses last year but overall he tackles quite well for a tiny fella, at least puts his body on the line and not shirt grabber.

Good short kicking game as well and can get a repeat set.

Lazer goal kicker, which alone is worth an extra 2-4 points over Ponga at the moment.

Toohey seems certain that Lino will be taking the goal kicking duties
that's a relief.

We've had some close games this year that shouldnt have been close and going into the finals will most likely be the difference between winning and losing.

Hope they're practicing their field goals. .

Happy for Lino- gives him the chance to get his face on TV and for a club to hopefully sign him for 2021.

Also refreshing to see the whole side not shifting positions just to accommodate one injury. If all goes well, this is our strongest spine available that will get plenty of game time together before the finals kickoff.

I always thought Lino had talent and he’s definitely played some good games for us. Hopefully we can get the best out of him for the rest of the year.

I recommend watching the 9s if you get a chance, I could be biased but he was looking like potentially being player of the tournament until we were done. I hope not playing for so long doesn’t mean he’s too rusty.

Feel he is very underrated. He has deficiencies, but have seen a very smart game manager in him pretty consistently, admittedly mostly in reggies. That is an area we are terribly lacking in, and a big part of why Green was brought in.

Lino is a smart general play kicker, a handy ball-player, and the best Goal Kicker in the comp. Let’s hope he gets plenty of opportunity to show it, he is likely there for the remainder of the season.
