I reckon Luai has been good recently. I actually think he is an elite NRL half. He creates more than Cleary. At the same time he needs to win us games but we have some flaws.

I am a Seyfarth but he hasn't been performing well enough to be a starting NRL player.

Mason isn't good enough to start in the halves. His running game is fine but he gets run over defensively.

I think picking Doueihi on-going is also holding us back.

I get we are building and as some fans state we need to bring players on slowly but we also need to win. Guys like Latu and but Laulilii's need more game time. I still can't get over Staines playing reserve grade while Doueihi who runs as slow as me doing a warm-up keeps making the team.
I think it’s easy to say let’s change but Benji may have got advice from his co coaches or Bennett to pick and stick even with some mistakes from players. They will learn. Getting used to playing with other specific players can lift a team to higher than the sum of its parts.. that’s when the multiple wins occur.. I don’t think we are too far off despite the mistakes

Unless TDS is actually going to play 30 minutes, it would make more sense to have Luke L at fullback and Mason at 14. That way Mason can cover any injuries in the backs and it is not that big an issue if he sits on the bench and only gets 5 or less minutes
Stop that PT, your making too much sense.

Hey PT when the bears come in are you following them being your local team, or sticking by the tigers? Just curious is all.

What about you DOM? Anyone else too.
For me, if the wests tigers relocated to Brisbane and Easts changed their name to just the Tigers, I would reluctantly follow them.
To make the transition easier, if our current players went there it would look like our team but better.
Failing that, if they changed their name eg The Ipswich Tigers, I'd probably give up on the sport.

If they got a team going on the central coast I'd probably throw my support behind them. It won't happen though with Newcastle and Manly in the comp. There's just not enough territory to warrant it. Or money in the area for that matter.

If the Tigers went belly up, or changed back to Wests Magpies I'd probably just follow the game from afar a bit. Watch the occasional game and not really give too much of a shit. I've already watched the demise of Newtown and Balmain. I wouldn't be interested in backing up a 4th time. Maybe I could follow the roosters and see if I could put the kiss of death on them. :D

Mason has failed at FB in the past yet Benji gives him another opportunity after his ordinary defensive effort last week, IMO Laulilii would of been a better option.I also don't get the love for Seyfarth, 2/3 of the opposition tries have gone through him and his out side half (Galvin,Mason) this season which isn't good enough, last week all the raiders tries came via him and Mason's poor defence. The sooner we stop carrying players that aren't performing in the team the sooner we start winning, Benji for some reason doesn't get it with this pair.
Seyfarth’s defence is solid. His running is good, he often pokes through the line, he needs blokes to follow him.
To’a, Mason and Turuva have been ordinary the past few games. Seyfarth biggest drama in defence is getting caught out of position, he often finds himself out of his channel because blokes in the middle are not effective and he’s being pulled in, in the scramble to clean up. I rate Seyfarth I think he is every bit as good as say a Heighnington, tackles all day and is always competing. Still has the occasional snap but way better than he used to be.

I think Latu is just a natural born Tongan punisher who likes to inflict pain and intimidate.. Like his brother sammy
Definitely has some sting in his defence. I reckon we can win off the back of Latu if Luai gets his kicking game right (or alternatively if Latu takes on the kicking game and has a decent game). Manly aren’t travelling great and we have been going ok (with a couple of exceptions) but not getting the choccies. We need this weekend to be the start of a four or five game streak, if we are to scrape into 7 or 8. Any normal year I’d say we’re in for the spoon, but there’s been some strange shit going down this season.

Without a doubt, this season is the best we have played in years.

Here is the problem, sports fans! Our team is very much in position to contend for the spoon again. It is byes that are overinflating where we are at the moment.....but make no mistake, we are more in line with spoon territory than finals territory.

I hope we don't get it as there are at least four other teams that have played worse footy overall than us this season.

It is not really just our footy that puts us in spoon contention, our lack of depth seals the deal. We really felt Pole's loss and we will feel Bula's as well.
