After game press conference
"I thought we played quite well in the first half we just dropped of our intensity in the second half. If we can maintain our consistency we will start to see more positive results. "
"We will learn from that game."

The NRL's darling (Ponga) won't be allowed to lose his first home game of the season. Even if we have a good record up there. Knights by 4 with some controversial call to decide the game.

We’ve got a good record against the knights. I didn’t watch their game against Easts but everything I’ve heard was that they played up tempo and the roosters were complete aids.

Hopefully Simpkins is ok, if he is and Madge uses his bench properly I think we can get a win

"It was those tries we let in in those five minutes before and after half time that hurt us"
We didn’t let in any tries in the five minutes before and after half time, we scored at 30 mins and 42 mins, and they started at 49 mins, but it’s the same old story just shit lapses at crucial times and an inability to defend in our 20. That red zone defence is the reason we need to get rid of Madge. It’s a glaring weakness, one that he has had 3 years to fix and can’t. Put him on notice, give him until origin time if we keep leaking in the goal line get rid of him

If Fitzgibbon and Best put on a repeat of the game against the roosters we have no chance.

Knights looked "good" because the Roosters were absolutely terrible...although I do think Best and Ponga can destroy our edges if on song.

Knights scored 2 tries off Roosters mistakes which you rarely ever see, plus I think the roosters completion rate was something like 60%

Us by 12, Jacko MoM. They’re our bitches.

We certainly need to improve a few things, but we were well in the game for 60 odd minutes, the Storm seemed to be allowed to do a lot of things (slowing the play the ball down?) that we probably wouldn’t have gotten away with but writing our season off after one game, seems a tad early.

Where they have it over us is they were down to 12 due to a sin bin and could still cover their edges in defense. We would struggle with 14 on the park. I'm pretty sure they didn't let in any points while they were a man down either.

Yes & No Vic.
2 wins last year for the Tigers, 1 in BrisVegas and a 24-20 win at Newcastle
2020 - 2 big wins for the Knights,
2019 - 2 wins for the Tigers with a close win at Newcastle 28-26
2018 - a win each but the Tigers got up at Newcastle 25-16.
Happy to win in a close one again at Newcastle

Garner didn’t get many minutes last week and looks like none this week? I don’t think he played the trials? he was injured end of last season, maybe still not fully recovered?

Luke Brooks failed to train on Tuesday because of a leg complaint he picked up late against the Storm, but is expected to start against Newcastle on Sunday, while winger Ken Maumalo hobbled off the field with a hamstring injury, leaving Junior Pauga to complete the session on the left wing.

I was confident of a win against Melbourne.
Very disappointed that the great work done in the first 50 minutes was undone by poor tactical decisions by the coach and a drop in defensive intensity in the last 30.
I am not confident this week at all.
This one might get ugly.

Exactly my thoughts about Rd 1… Not sure will get ugly against knights though. Probably worse for us would be a close lose with Maguire doing his best for newie.
