Well Tooheys said on Twitter that we aren't going to market for a replacement fullback

Guess it's gonna be Elliot for the rest of the year as its been mentioned many times in the media that Wardle has been brought here to play back row

Time for Pongas dad to agitate up there and get him a release. He is a third stringer in his position at best up there. Wasted in the 20's.

For Ponga not to get a FG spot after Winterstein's injury reeks of sour grapes from Green.

Incumbent fullback and wingers followed by Javid Bowen. Not saying he should be but feels like he is....

Green has no incentive to play him ahead of other options on the wing, not until the business end of the season, anyway. You generally give young fullbacks time on the wing to develop them. As JM said, at this point he's really just their backup plan at fullback. I think you'd need to see quite a few wingers go down before he gets a run there, they've got some pretty good options anyway.

Maybe after Barnett's kick and regather last week, and Hodkinson seemingly unwilling to take that role, Barnett could be a last tackle option close to the line. He could get the defence in two minds, can put a grubber in, but also big enough that if they hold off on him he could charge over.

He also has a passing game.

But of you give young fullbacks time on the wing to develop them why is Ponga the 1st back up at fb and not being given time on the wing? He has 1 FG game behind him.

They also have Gela-Mosby who plays fb and wing who is staying so what incentive does Green have to play Ponga over Gela-Mosby?

Yeah Ponga is good but so is the other bloke and he is staying put.

Just sayin I think Green has no vested interest in playing Ponga unless he is desperate and going deep into the well in desperation.

Anyway it will become evident as soon as Coote gets a niggly one and they need a fb for a few weeks

The main interest I think he has in playing Ponga at fullback is he's that good that he can win you games. I think they have options on the wing that can do the job well enough, but you generally play your best cards in the spine if you're competing for a premiership.

Just my opinion. I haven't seen Gela-Mosby play fullback, so I don't know much about that - I know he does a fine job on the wing, though.

Yeah fair point mate. I would never wish injury on anyone but would like to see Coote get a small one to see what Green does. Agree Ponga given a chance could make the spot his own and I would love nothing more than that to happen injury free of course!

Just think the bloke is wasted in 20s this year.

Im surprised we didnt give Ross or Pete a go at FB.

I understand Brown wants to develop the combos (good that he is thinking about that too) but id rather have a strong FB with Elliot or someone else coming in on the wing....

It's strange that Brown had Pete and Ross swapping between centre and wing to let Ross get his hands on the ball more, but he won't shift him to fullback. Denniss, Chanel, Elliott and Gagan could all go straight onto the wing without us losing too much.
