that game reminded me a lot of the infamous spoonbowl against the tigers in 2017. i thought the coach might not be the most savvy tactician after that one and nothing changed since then

same dud game plan, same result. we've got heaps better players now but.

sharks round 1 and a rando broncs win too.

Another coaching masterclass. one out rubbish with the odd error or two thrown in playing from behind.
It's not good enough from the coaches or from Pearce/Ponga tbh. We had more problems tonight, though. We couldn't even get out of our half bar the 10 minutes after half time. We may have had some good attitude in D tonight, but when it came to making the hard yards we were still caught with our pants down.

It was a little odd to me that we had the best go-forward when our bench players were on the field. Dan has offered nothing since Origin at all, thought he was comprehensively outplayed by his brother tonight.

Brown can talk as much as he likes about how well we defended in our own half. It wasn't a fluke that a lot of the game was played there. Our attack and penetration was poor and it allowed them field position. We kept running one out into where their defense was set up.

Brownies not the one out there missing tackles!!

I'll ask again. If Herman gets dropped for lazy D is Sione playing reggies next week. Ball watching when their hooker strolled over.

and as for not getting out of our end, having a middle forward play 40 minutes and make 1 run probably dont help

Massive concerns over what is going on with Ponga after watching him tonight.

Worrying watching him when we had the ball and then seeing him way out of position on numerous occasions when we didn't have it.

Yes he made a few great tackles on Gutho and that was inspiring but...
geez the rest was very poor.

What was he doing late in the game when he picked the ball up and didn't give it to Moga???

If you turn off the score and watch the last ten or so minutes, you won't know we were behind by 4. No attack at all. You can't call it attack when you're just carting the ball up one out every single time.

I thought JSaifiti was good.

Mistake free non attacking football that's frustrating as hell. The coach is sucking all the creativity out of our team... If I Wan Ponga I probably wouldn't wanna play either.

He looked out of sorts. I think the money talk is playing on his mind big time. Why hang around in Newcastle when he could play in Brisbane or go back to Union for the All Blacks?

Different rules and standards for different players.

Has happened all season.

Continuously blaming the coach is really easy and convenient.

Our three highest paid players aren’t earning their money. Pearce was in cruise control out there. Bar early in the second half he barely had a go.

It pains me to bag him, but Klem needs to find an offload. One out running is great, and the volume he puts out is great, but he is a leader, and we have NO ONE who can offload. He needs to be that guy.

If there was one guy who had something to prove this week - and yes, it should be Levi because he is literally playing for his career and still played like a spud - it’s Ponga. Prove you are worth that cash. His lack of willingness to run the ball tonight was glaring. Long passes to SKD allowing the defence to swamp him is not good enough. Dumb errors that put the team under pressure aren’t good enough. Being caught out in defence time and time again isn’t good enough.

He isn’t worth the hype. Yet. Time for his manager to shut the f**k up.

This run is on those three guys, not our whipping boys in Brown and Mann.
