Outsider looking in, looks like you are still a attacking second rower and a prop short for next season (like my Warriors, but we're 2+ props short). The centres look good attack wise, but we all know centres defence is the most important thing.

Tui at Fullback doesn't give me confidence, but he might come good..

Actually think with Twal coming along nicely and the experience of Grant alongside Sue, Aloiai, Tatola and Felise not to mention Packer and Matulino our prop stocks are pretty settled.

Agree with the 2nd row though. Atm we have Lawrence/Eisenhuth/McQueen/Taylor/Marsters

Wouldn't mind grabbing Boyle from Titans still.

I see you aren't really confident about next year ted. I'll give you some valid points for next year though

1. We are competing with top 8 teams this year, despite our reserve grads standard team

2. Add in try scoring freak Fonua for MWZ/Naiqama not to mention a big body getting our sets rolling. Basically another forward

3. Milne/Suli centre combo. Basically I think this is make or break in how we go next year just behind Reynolds/Brooks, but potentially they could be lethal.

4. Hard working ethic of Reynolds. I watched Reynolds against Bulldogs, although they got pumped...he was in nearly every defensive play..applying kick pressure, chasing runners etc.

5. Packer & Matulino getting our sets rolling and generating fast play the balls

6. A full off-season with IC's squad (main point is it's finally his team)

Brooks is hot and cold but I reckon behind our team next year & an experienced Reynolds will see him have his best year yet
Clifford most of ur points have merit but my primary issue re our aspirations for '18 revolves around the spine. We don't have an effective organiser nor do we have an effective kicking game.

I don't dispute Reynold's competitiveness & the experience he will bring but we ought to have been more patient in recruiting as we panic bought by paying Reynolds big overs.

A much bigger problem is the bum wearing no.7. I can live with signing Reynolds coz he has assets albeit he's been paid overs but 4 yrs of mediocrity(not 4 wks or 4 mths) by Brooks & we re-sign this useless imbecile with the expectation that he owns the team.Hasnt IC been watching us over the last 4 yrs.Blind Freedy can see Brooks isn't an organiser & doesn't seem to have the aptitude to learn the task of managing a team around the park.Geez I so want to be wrong but it was a monumental blunder re-signing this dimwit.

Additionally re our spine the jury is out on whether Lolo at fullback will b a success & neither of our 9's is currently anything special.

The ability & quality of the spine is extremely influential re whether we will improve enough to have a shot @ finals footy.

I hope I'm wrong but i firmly believe with this sub-standard spine IC would have to be a miracle maker to get this team into the 8 in '18.

Yeh fair argument, our success next year will be hugely determant on our spine.

Personally don't think we should've signed Reynolds but I'm not unhappy about it at the same time, Cronk for 2 years alongside Brooks would have been invaluable & as he could've learnt his trade and then become the player we've all wanted him to become.

Brooks seems to be a slow learner (obviously) but let's not hide the fact he's had Moses and shit coaches guiding him through his nrl career. Next year atleast will be different with an experienced head

Next year our spine is a huge gamble no doubt, but If the selections are correct we'll be fielding a huge team next year (basically all our outside backs are 100kg+) and our forward pack is a massive upgrade.

If our spine can't play off the back of that, well I don't think they'll ever be much in the nrl and Cleary being the smart operator he is will find that out.

There's a reason why warriors & Penrith were able to successfully rebuild (part of the reason why Penrith have been successful the last couple years and in 14 is because of IC)

I have full faith in him. It was never going to be fixed this year

Ted - I'm concerned about the spine as well. I think the overall quality of the team will improve but you still need some quality players in those positions to get the job done.

I don't see next years team as a top 8 team unless Brooks and Tui fire. I think we need to be in the market for quality players in those positions.

Clifford - I also think Reynolds is a poor signing especially for 4 years. He isn't what someone like Brooks needs unless Brooks turns into a great player. Reynolds competing with a top line half beside him could work really well. Brooks isn't looking like becoming that level of player.

I'm not writing Brooks off yet though. He has pace, decent size and a great long kicking game. He just lacks some smarts.

You also need quality players around you. I'm not sure even Cronk could turn naiqama, mwz, Chee Kam, Lovett etc into quality players

He probably could, but my point is Brooks is nowhere near cronks level so therefore needs decent experience/quality around him first to get to that level

I am not sure what everyone is expecting next year, for me , it is to be consistent and hopefully make the 8.
I expect it to be a longer term strategy than just next year to achieve the success we all crave.
I think we have brought well, considering our past years of mediocrity in the club as a whole.
Yes we paid overs for some players but I don't think most of these players would have come without IC's influence.
I still believe that once we have gained some consistency & get some pride back in the jersey, then better players will come, if required.

I reckon that MWZ is actually pretty good. He seems to get the job done. He is a really good fringe first grade player. Chee-Kam also has some ability but the amount of poor plays he comes up with are pretty significant. Naiqama and Chee-Kam are actually similar. They look really good at times but then do something really dumb.

Lovett doesn't do anything good ever but he still makes the poor plays.

It always seems the fringe players making the schoolboy errors.

To be fair chee kam has been played out of position a fair bit. When he has been in the back row he looks reasonable

I'm strangely confident in this game. We actually have a pretty decent sized pack and given how close we got to beating Parra I think we are actually improving like IC says we are.

It will be interesting to see how ET goes on the edge and Eseinhuth in the 13

I'm sensing a distinct lack of interest in this game..

After the Newy win yesterday I'm hoping the Tigers can return serve to stay 4 points ahead and probably safe from the spoon...

Have backed the Tigers +9.5 but we all know that muppet Hayne saves his best for the Tigers..

Naqaima, Lovett to retain their spots after great displays yesterday....

Littlejohn on the bench to provide a bit of impact and keep the metres going when the starting props rotate off...

Littlejohn a late inclusion on the bench... Lol...

Well done Ivan! You obviously have been mentored by the great Tim Sheens on bench selections...

We've been pretty ordinary. Woods though is such a dud. He has the softest hit-ups of any prop in first grade. If he doesn't get quality off loads he isn't a first grader.

Brooks cops it but he hasn't been bad. Tui needs to improve and realise he is a runner of the footy who can pass it sometimes.

The over performers to me are MWZ and Twal. Twal did come up with a typical Tigers dud play.

At halftime we are making hard work of this one.....4 nil.
I have a bad feeling already..Bombing too many chances.
Gee we need to find a better goalkicker as well.
