Thompson is out for the rest of the season injured, happened a couple of weeks ago at training I believe they said in one of the injury reports. Don't remember what he hurt but it wasn't anything major.

Headline in the Newcastle Herald claims Klemmer has been dropped but there's nothing concrete in the article to back that up. Does have AOB's comments from today on the loan situation:

"It didn't get through to me to make a decision on," O'Brien said. "That in itself, that probably says I don't know how much was there or what wasn't there.

"Whether it was stopped on David's end, or whether it was just an inquiry - there's a fair bit going on from clubs trying to fill up some rosters.

"I think it's dead and buried at the moment."

O'Brien was coy when asked if the club had considered or is considering allowing Klemmer to get out of the final year of his contract.

"It did not come across my desk all day yesterday ... I don't know where that speculation has come from," he said. "I'm not too sure, I can't give you an answer on that."

Wouldn't AOB be one of the first contacted about a decision on if he wanted to loan Klemmer or keep him for the season?

What actually does come across his desk? Doesn't sound like much? Which would be a good thing you'd think, seeing as he'd have sole focus on preparing the team...

The initial report yesterday specifically said AOB was going to meet with officials yesterday afternoon to make a decision, so someone is lying.

This is absolutely bizarre. Clearly something going on in the background here. It's not totally against Klemmer's character to jump ship from a floundering club though right?

There was that story that he was looking to go on loan then get an extra 2 years? Could be that he's wanting out. Whilst I wouldn't want to lose him now given his work rate, it would definitely free up a chunk of cash in our cap. But it's not like there's anyone really any good to spend it on which is an issue.
