Can you consistently question any other club's mental application and ability to produce a professional performance, especially in games we start as favourites, as much as the Knights? All the former greats seem to mention it all the time about us: "They just haven't turned up", "Something's now right", "They keep doing the same thing but it's not working", "The Knights don't have a winning culture". The list goes on.

There are poor teams without enough talented players to be competitive, like the Bulldogs, but this Knights team should be putting away this Sharks team. I hate how predictable it is that we'll bottle it.
The thing is, I think we did turn up today. Effort has been there, it's just we're a mess when it comes to what we're doing with the ball. There seems to be this really dud plan in place that is completely not working today. We've under-utilized the forwards, constantly gone left to Barnett and sat Ponga on the right with nothing to do and little to work with.

The Sharks actually aren't playing badly, but we're just letting them.

This is why I have no idea where the confidence some have in this team hitting some magical run of form and storming into the finals comes from
Because you see it in 10 minute spurts! Just hopeful it clicks over 80!

Here we go. Brace yourselfs! Running with the wind may help this half..

That seems to be our gameplan lately, Get Frizzell running onto it at speed sideways and hope he breaks the line.

From my perspective the big problem for us is being all set play, no real football. Every shift looks identical, and comes after a couple of nothing hit ups in the middle as we prepare for our one big shot at scoring on the left edge. I would so much rather see some football played, mix it up, and then when some numbers have been created the key players kick into gear and go to an edge with real purpose. We're unbelievably predictable in everything we do.

I don't think anyone has had confidence in it. It's just the blueprint of a potential future where we could be happy enough with the season.

100%.

And it's why we shit ourselves so often when a play doesn't come off like the way we train these plays.

I actually saw some training footage on the news this past week and all the boys do is run forward at a medium pace and keep passing to the outside casually, not looking up, not engaging the line... And of course that's basically how we play.

Early signs of this half are not great IMO. Especially the support play and kick chase. No pressure on the catches and a few blokes getting into space and no one to pass to.

As many have said now, we need a complete structural overhaul this off season. Even if we win this it'll be on effort and individual brilliance.
