I think we got shafted by pretty much everything today. Refs, injuries and don't forget ourselves. Oh well one more game to go.

The Rugby League media really need to apply some pressure to the referees about the inequality with the way certain teams are officiated in comparison to others. I’m not going to pretend that we were good enough to win this game but the fact that we were basically penalized out of the contest today was just shit to watch. If we get beaten by better teams and given a fair go then that’s fine but we’re basically playing from 12 points behind in every game against teams like Cronulla/Melbourne/Roosters/Broncos etc because they are constantly being given extra opportunities with the ball.

It felt like today was more of a 6-10 point game yet we were down by 26 on the score board. We seem to exist just to take a beating from other clubs at the moment. If the Storm copped some of those calls (or non-calls) today I can guarantee some phone calls would be made and it wouldn’t happen again next week.

Yet tomorrow everyone in the media will carry on about how dominant Cronulla were and how they’re a premiership threat when in reality they were good for about 20 mins at the end of the game after we were gassed because of all the extra tackling we had to do.

Go forward equals momentum. Get going forward, a roll on, dominate the ruck and quick play the ball you'll find a decent amount of decisions go your way. Close 50% of the time. We get a few minutes of that here and there atm.

Yes we were down on troops but we are 6 to 8 decent first graders away from being a competitive top 8 side. In particular, 2 to 3 agro, metre eaters will only do to help us get there.

There are some weeks we can compete with our current prop rotation but not enough to win more than half the season's games.

We also need a hooker with a brain and we have to upgrade our bench from players like Buhrer to really have a shot getting into a second week of semis.

Don't blame them for giving up, refs penalised us out of the game in the first half and set the course for the remainder of the game. Everything from the calls to the commentary team, this entire game had a preset narrative that didn't involve us being anything more than fodder. The scoreline sucks but it was a stat pad in the final 20 and nothing more. The way today went hurts more considering the years we've copped as fans and yet it constantly feels like we're subjected to a lack of consistency, lopsided penalty counts and no attention about it from influences in the media. Today just f**king blows. We're afterthoughts in the NRL and probably will continue to be for some time.

Fitzgibbon's injury hurt us and Watson was clearly not ready. Next week is going to be hard to watch if Ponga is out. Going to have to bring Lamb in.

This, agree 120%

I honestly can’t even think of one of our players that stood out today. King improved slightly (not hard) and Cory’s defence was great today
SKD had a good game. Sione was good in patches. Guerra was typical and always gives 100%

Fully expecting Barnett to miss next week due to his tackle on Fifita. It’ll be similar to Ese’ese’s trumped up suspension earlier in the year.

Barnett will probably receive a lifetime ban from rugby league for his “crusher tackle” while Napa will have his charge for knocking someone out dismissed. It’s always possible when it’s us.
