Crowd will be 16-17k imo. Souths are generally one of our better drawing crowds.

We got 13k against the titans who are the worst drawing.

I really miss when we went through that period of 15-20 years when we'd pull in 22-25K for the first game of the season, no matter who we were playing..

I'm still very concerned with our spine as when it's compared to other teams, we are way off the pace. Not convinced with Elliott at the back yet, plus we have Hodkinson who is the least creative half in the comp, or close to it. Lamb is still incredibly green so the jury is still out on whether he is a future first grader. Levi is showing this year that he's capable of getting the forwards rolling on, but again, the jury is still out whether he'll turn into a quality first grader.

I feel like we've got them covered in the forwards and our backline actually looks pretty good compared to theirs. Their halves are definitely better than ours though. Reynolds is a master at getting repeat sets and creating pressure and Walker plays what's in front of him and is a pretty dangerous ball runner.

If we can win the forward battle and mininize their time attacking our goal line then I think we'll win. But if we let them get repeat set after repeat set which they are capable of doing then they'll wear us down and we'll concede points.

If our forwards stand up I believe we've got enough points in our backline to win a close one.

Like that analysis. The middle will be important.

I think the rain may suit our style of play.

Our completion rate is pretty good this season.

Our attack generally is fairly low risk on the sunniest of days.

Our forwards have been making easy metres up the middle of the field.

Souths have the burgess brothers who couldn't catch a rash at a poison ivy convention

Based on the first two games I will enjoy the first 25 minutes, then get filled with rage when the starting forwards get taken off.

While it's true we've had a late first half "fade" in both games, I don't think the Titans game was actually a "fade". Titans scored two lucky tries in between when we had a chance to go up 18-6 but were offside. Only try that came from our derpiness was the try from the scrum after Elliot's error. Warriors game was definatley a fade though and all our doing. I don't think the bench forwards have been the cause of this though, they've been alright. However I don't believe we're getting enough impact from them yet. Yates, Stone and Stockwell are solid but aren't gonna be coming off the bench and hurting teams up the middle. When Pauli comes back he'll be that man I reckon.

I have watched 2 of our 20s games this season and I'm both games our fullback cooper has been a stand out. He has made over 200m in all 3 games. I have said it a few times now, but I would really love to see him get a crack at fullback, I'd like him there over Elliot, but surely if we get another backline injury he is in the running.

Yeah it's only 20s, but he has shown more than our nsw cup backs.

I am not a size guy but isn't he both young and very skinny? I think you can get away with one or the other but not both at NRL level. Likely needs time to fill out.

EDIT: unless you are a real freak in the Benji/Inglis mould and dare I say Jai Field.

Can anyone who watched the reserve grade game enlighten those of us who didn't who stood out for us today? And by stood out I mean who was particularly shithouse among a shithouse team.
