Sione and Guerra have been outstanding, especially defensively.

Sione did a good job on kikau last week but was ordinary tonight. Doesn't offer much with the ball.

Guerra is a step behind. Should have scored when put away and had a tired effort on papali when he went over.

Full strength Sione is getting 20 minutes off the bench and Guerra is 18th man imo.

No doubt re Guerra and Sione.

Great thing is our starting backrowers and hooker are unavailable and we do not have a 5/8 and we are still looking good... so far.

Mlb shortened us right up last year attacking our weak points. Mann was torn apart and Pearce put under huge pressure all game.

Nice to have Obi in charge this time around.

Ponga, Pearce, Best, Macca, Klemmer, Hunt, Lee all very good today

Sione and Guerra offer absolutely nothing in attack.

Yeah Im really not sitting here thinking 'can't wait to add Barney back to the pack'. For mine he's an okay backrower.
Happy with Herman in the middle.

Re Sione, it's such a shame we bulked him up and threw him into the forwards. He looked unbelievable in his debut year on the wing...but the speed, footwork and evasiveness that were his strengths are now gone. He's playing tough though, no one can take that away from him.

Did AOB say anything about Mann in the presser..... Assuming he is out.... Guessing it's Hoy or Lino to 6 and Randall to 14.

Agasint Melbourne..... I'd probably go the safer route of 6. Lino 14. Hoy

Start Hoy vs broncos the following week

Sounds like Mann will miss some time. Didn't sound optimistic about Fitzgibbon being ready next week either.

That's been my thoughts for some time. We bulked him up and got him to barge forward head down. Early on, he looked the best with his head up and a step and a palm. I've seen one game where he buzzed me out stepping through most of the opposition. It caught the commentators out.
He has shown some signs of more mobility in the back row. I hope he can work on that.

Yep, I'd say the incompetence running the club in those days is as much (or more) at fault for Sione failing to kick on than Sione himself.

He was quite obviously, a huge talent.

I personally feel we are playing him in the wrong position. He is a better lock than second row

There's a reason he's won 2 Buderus Medals.

During this lock down I watched a number of last years games, the number of times a Barny run or a forced error because of a huge hit turned the game for us was outstanding....He's much more than an OK backrower for mine.

Doesnt look good and on the NRL website they have him as missing nex week.

AOB did talk up Crossland as a potential fill in.
I'd much rather see Crossland than any other option we have tbh. He's a specialist half with all the skills and we have enough experience and quality in the spine to let him just play his natural game with no pressure. Keep Hoy on the bench. Lino is good depth but I worry about his defence, particularly when we finally don't seem to have any weaknesses in that area.

Did Sione get a head knock tonight?

Agree with the others. I reckon his career has been ruined with all the re shuffling. If he was in any other team hed probably be an origin standard winger.

Are just the best NRL team of 2020 or of all time?

I think if we were up against a bottom half NRL side today, we would have put 70 plus points on the board. As much as I hate the Raiders, they are a strong side. Very happy with the win.

Can't complain about anyone tonight. Wasn't the prettiest win but we were so strong physically and mentally out there. Looked like the whole side could play another half and still not be gassed. So good to see such a fit team out there.

Someone said Best doesn't look the goods last week but surely he must have changed his mind. Physically a beast already but has the intelligence of a seasoned vertern. His try was great but his kick for the penalty try and the last minute winner was class class and some more class. Should definitely be in the reckoning for some rep footy this year.

Saifiti boys are giving Klemmer a run for his money. All three of them plus Ese'ese were superb today. Hopefully we can hold onto all four for a long time.

Lino over Hoy? At least Hoy can tackle.

Hoy comes straight in.

No probs with your view, but as an aside, the medal he won last year was laughable. Klemmer got absolutely robbed for the award.

He's not quick, he doesnt bust the line, although his ball playing is reasonable, and he was always good for a brainy penalty. I always feel like he has a pretty obvious ceiling.

Nonetheless, at least we know he cares and will put in for the jersey.

I'd go Lino and Hoy next week. I wouldn't start Hoy or Crossland and I think Hoy needs another go.
Whoever it is at 6 needs to learn to work with Ponga and step out wide when Ponga takes control.
