Wasn't that because his brother hurt his leg and we had no tacklers left?

It's hard to know why they make decisions but to me it was clearly a bad decision and replacing Latu who was causing havoc with Twal was a massive mistake and Benji made that mistake.

If Benji said that is why he made that decision well that is something that he needs to work on. I wonder if they have sports psychologists to talk too because I'd hope Benji has someone to talk too about those types of decisions.

JL gets paid the big $ to exhibit excellence with the ball.He has been underwhelming & against 4 avg teams. The expectation is that he will vindicate the marquee contract albeit I’m not impressed at this early stage with his lacklustre performances.
Yes and no, I think he has been pretty awesome, the Newcastle game he probably saved 3-4 tries, and have a look at the attitude of the boys, boys who were getting flogged every week for last couple of years standing up to be counted. He brings a bit more to the table than just what’s happening on the park I think. There have been times in attack when I’ve thought he was a bit ordinary, but I’m hoping these instances are more teething problems with combos and boys getting used to the way he plays. We’re still a bit disorganised in attack but I think it’s on the improve

Hopefully it was coz Latu was out of steam. That’d be the only good reason..

Agree, I think his incredible will to win, has spread across the team, that will be missed a bit in this game.
I don't think he's ever stopped trying since he's been here and has been prepared (whether by design, I don't know), to let Galvin have his head.
I'm confident that this will settle down, when they get to know each others game.

I certainly can’t & wouldn’t criticise his off the ball impact. His glaringly come from a winning culture which is translated into tenacious effort & +ve influence on the rest of team re what’s required to win.Ive just been disappointed in his game management & accept the fact it’s early days at Concord & expect he will eventually stamp his influence in attack.

This is clearly our toughest opponent thus far. I’d luv us to knock over our ex 1 dimensional protected species over-rated coach’s team.Im not expecting a boilover & if we do lose just hope we r super competitive.

I do agree with your game management comments, I’m hoping as the boys get used to playing with each other that will be a big area of improvement. Even though we cooked the game last weekend our left side was decimated during the game and the outcome wasnt disastrous. As a team good game management relies on everyone performing their own roles properly, sometimes things will turn to shit, not because of the ‘manager’ failing but someone else not being in the right place at the right time, for example a backrower taking the ball up on tackle 4 and instead of taking the tackle, off loading to a half, and the kicker getting stuck with ball, or a centre getting stuck at dummy half instead of the dummy half, or the play the ball to no one with two minutes left and the game on the line. Little things add up over the course of a game. I think tigers boys are finally starting to learn this, can see it starting to happen in defence. This weekend will be a massive test

Tell you the truth I can't remember even yesterday.
I'll have to watch it again but what I can remember is several things going against us at the pointy end of the deal .
When we look at a game on tv we see what seems to be the obvious but what we don't pick up is what the coaches and trainiers are picking up thru dody language etc.
Remember all of them are around each other nearly 7 days a week so they recognise problems that we can't.
I'm no defending Benji at all but still there must have been some mitigation involved.
I'm more pissed that we haven't got a full strength side v Broncos because that would really show where we are at, especially if it's a dry track.
Looking out the window, we've had some rain though and the forcast is more sporadic showers.

Now that's a good post.
The boys train like they are playing the game. Shirts v's skins and reverse the roles. Also dropping players in and out. This all helps them do the 1% under fatigue.
What was evident is the didn't train to play wet weather footy so did they train for that or not?
The flashy tries and the sight of big red sprinting down the field to set up his winger's still would have happened if they played more structured footy and just concentrated on pressuring them into errors after a good kick and chase.
In fact there would have been more tries like big Red's if they played like that.
