Lachlan Fitzgibbon has looked ordinary too. Probably a product of our garbage attack.
On paper, that Manly side is one of the worst put out. It matches up with our 2015-16 squads. And we got dished.

We'll be much better playing away from home, as the site of our supporters appears to conjure expectation ans spook our mental midgets.

Playing like a team that bought the hype after the Sharks game.

The sooner we are written off and out of contention, we'll play much more comfortably.

Wasn’t he carrying something in preseason? Maybe he still is
that or he's not mentally up for it. It's not often Pearce doesnt lead the stats in kick mtrs. The opposite half is beating him in almost every stat every game so far this year. I blame the lack of organizing the attack on him as well. - woeful .

the lack of kicking could of been a result of all the late hits last week and an over reaction

dont think so, every kicker cops it every week. to put it in perspective Ponga kicked for as many kick mtrs, Kayne Elgey kicked the ball for more kick mtrs than Pearce. his ball receipts were well down, run mtrs well down. Basically he was a no show.

If he is not injured I would drop him in a heart beat. Send a message to the playing group . It doesnt matter who you are - perform or play reserves.

That was right up there as one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever watched, and as a Knights fan I’ve watched a fair few. I just can’t understand why we were out-enthused by Manly, we looked slow, sluggish, lazy and predictable. The fans deserve a lot better than that.

There seem to be so many problems at the moment, the forwards are either being coached not to pass or do anything with the ball once they receive it or they’re just ignoring their instructions. Our halfback seems to have forgotten what a repeat set is. Our hooker basically doesn’t do anything, our centres don’t get early ball and our line speed is set to slow motion.

The thing that really got me riled up in this game (apart from all of the above) is that just before half time we finally started throwing the ball around a bit and guess what? We made more metres, we gained momentum and surged up field and scored off the back of it. We did this for about 5 mins just before half time and then with 10 mins to go when we were only down by 8 points while playing against 12 men we just ran one out for about 4 sets in a row and then put up a nothing bomb at the end of it. It is absolutely mind boggling. What the f**k are we doing???

I’ve been one of Brown’s defenders for the last few years but tonight’s game really has me questioning that. I actually have no idea what this team does on the training paddock in between games, we literally have no idea what to do with the ball in hand. I counted at least 4 occasions where one of our playmakers ran behind a lead runner and had to kneel down for a voluntary tackle because everyone seems to be doing their own thing as if they’ve all been reading from a different play book.

For mine the only players who can hold their heads high after tonight are Ponga, Klemmer, Barnett, DSaf and Lee. Everyone else was shit.

Just watched the press conference and even Brown didn’t know why they were just running one out in the last 10min. For me that lies purely on the halves. There’s been absolutely 0 game management from Pearce this year, and his kicking game has been woeful. Somethings definitely not right. What pi$$es me off the most is, is that we’ve basically ruined Ramien’s chance of Rep Footy this year, because he barely touches the Ball. We can all see what he can do when given the chance!

And replace him with????
Lino and Watson to 5/8 . It's not so much about winning a game as it is about setting the right culture within the playing group. If you're not having a crack you dont deserve to pull on the Knights jersey.

He may well be injured - to be fair it is the only excuse I can make for the fella at this point. Put it this way, if I were the coach he'd wanna be bloody injured.

yep

I thought our offloads were much better this game, but still very predicable as to where the ball was going and who was getting it.
Our hooker basically doesn’t do anything
Thats Pearce in my book. It doesnt look like anyone is calling the shots out there.

same as the last few weeks. It's painful to watch. They are literally falling and running into each other.

just looked up Cronks stats from the GF he played with a broken shoulder to compare with Pearce this game

Cronk only made 5 less tackles and a better efficiency ( 100% - 88% )
Cronk had more kick mtrs ( 69 - 50 )
Cronk = 2 bombs and 2 cross field kicks Pearce = 1 cross field kick and 1 grubber

Cronk plays better with a broken shoulder than Pearce. Thats how bad he's playing .

Pearce was in the head bin for the last 15 or so minutes.

But his other 65 was poor.

Horrible day at the footy.

Enjoyed Canterbury cup.

Left the ground before full time dejected.

Listening to the knights music is hilarious, "if there's a lesson to be learned we're handing it out" frickin lol.

Just stop playing it please, clearly isn't true.

Brown has 5 weeks max.

I don't want to be that guy but, a big but... It looks like we are killing ourselves this year. In previous seasons I always felt we were the underdog and better teams would bear us. This year, I have felt we are the better team but keep f**king it up.

We aren't getting run over but doing stupid sh*t to lose games. Very frustrating but at the same time I feel like we are so close to being 5/5 as well. Just me?

So, I go back to my original query that had the herd in stampede mode two rounds ago...

Do we need to recruit another 6 first grade standard players or is it a coaching issue?

Footy related opinions, not smart arse comments and suggestions to take up coaching for living are most welcome.

To me it looks like the team is playing to instructions with no ad lib when circumstances offer the chance. Players going through the motion, especially 6, 7 & 9 and no variation. As for one out when Pearce off surely someone else is designated to organise and call plays, Lino or Watson.
This team was near best we have and performed poorly as they have done so far, they need to have a good long hard look at themselves along with coaching staff.
No point in sacking players when they are the best we have just get them to perform, we are a chance of top 8, although slipping, playing like bottom 4 side.
