Man... Is that how it feels to win a grand final? What a way to end the game!!! The boys pushed them back in the 80th minute to snuff out any chance. Great stuff!!

Grand Finals are better than that rubbish.

I would have been in a DARK mood if we lost that. Awarding that Sharks try was a disgrace.

I reckon if Musgrove or Jones had played the last three over Shibs, we might be 5-1 atm.

Coin flip between Jones and Ponga for MoM. We lose by plenty without either of them.
Absolutely. I give it to Jones purely because I feel that he constantly inspired the whole team. His efforts tonight should be the blueprint for the rest of the forwards. Ponga was unbelievable though, especially considering he was clearly quite ill.

Jones easy MotM. Felt like watching Glenn Grief or Steven Simpson. Pure heart.
Perfect summation. Exactly how it felt watching him play. He is suddenly a huge fan favourite, no doubt. Ngl, I didn't think he had that kind of performance in him. Smashed right through his ceiling.

A lot of concern over our halves. Green has some nice touches (and some ordinary ones to be fair), but he's quite a liability off the ball. Slow, not great in the contact and not a particularly strong defender in general. I'm not having a crack at him, he's 34 years old on what must be a bit of a shoddy knee. We don't have a well rounded half at the club, to be honest. We really need Clifford early, so at least we can have 2 incomplete halves at any one time to maybe take the slack off each other.

Mann, as always, just isn't a half. He's a utility.

Something definitely has to be done about the sudden lapses in concentration and effort though. It happens so often and in such predictable circumstances that you'd have to suggest that it's an ingrained collective mental habit triggered by certain situations. For years we've been awful just before/just after half-time and also trying to rest on laurels we haven't earned. We have enough talent to win most games if 100% effort is there for the 80 minutes.

It just isn't though.

There's just no leaders in the team. Jones lifted us tonight - that's something that good teams can reliably expect from a good handful of players in their team at least. Pearce tries, and is probably the closest we have, but he's still not a real leaders arsehole and can go missing as good as anyone else in the team.

I love what Brailey gives the team, I've loved everything about him this year... but he's not a captain at this stage of his career for mine. Not quite there yet. Dan was looking likely in Round 1 but still has the tendancy to drift out of thing sometimes. O'Brien is probably waiting for someone to stand up and take the captaincy, but I don't see anyone really offering their services week on week at the moment.

You need that bloke on a team that everyone respects - or even reveres - that can get everyones attention when the chips are down, put the team on their backs and say follow me. We just do not have that. We haven't had it since Buderus retired.
