I'll take that half overall. Love what I'm seeing from Jones and Musgrove. Mann has been good. Green was shaky early but had some really good touches and kicks as the half wore on. Hopefully he's getting more comfortable as his gametime goes up. Friz probably the pick of the forwards, although Dan got through a tonne of work in his stint too.

Our execution is pretty sub standard and nowhere near a "good" team - but the effort is there and honestly it's all I ask at the moment.

And just on Musgrove too - I think it really shows that he's an "older" debutant at 23. Nowhere near as over-awed as many other debutants that you see hit first grade, and you can see the hunger in him to keep his spot. He's waited a long time for that jersey, and he intends to do everything he can to show he deserves to keep it. You wouldn't pick anyone else on our roster (except Hunt of course) above him at wing based on those 40 minutes.

Edit - oh i forgot that Eddy is on our roster too. Yeah I mean I guess I'd have Musgrove at first drop for a wing spot... but geez I just love seeing someone come into first grade and actually have a real dig at it.

Fairly new to following and supporting the Knights, what's Musgroves history Pal?

Honestly I'm not best positioned to fill you in on that mate, but he's been in the lower grades and bounced around clubs a bit for the last few years. He was a Knights junior originally, went elsewhere to get a shot at first grade, didn't really make it - came back to Newcastle to play in the local competition, and has managed to pick up a tiny contract at the Knights this year to fill a roster spot for us I think. Suddenly he gets a crack at first grade and I mean you can see he wants it more than your average 18-20 year old debutant.

Anyone correct me on the above, by the way. I think that's the general gist of it, but I honestly haven't followed him closely.

It's a bit funny though, because I was always under the impression that he was a bit of a talent and just got a bit unlucky with opportunities.
