he seems to have no confidence in his outside backs
...and yet on his side, To'a is likely to be leading the Daly M centres and Turuva is towards the top of the list of leading try scorers.
Galvin has been engaged with those two and it's ok at this stage.
A lot if people have been saying both halves are running too laterally. Whilst this is the case, we are exacerbating the problem by not folding the D in with direct running and hit ups.
This is a coaching issue because your playmakers have limited opportunities when the D is evenly spread across the field. This is why they were basically running in circles at times. Also when this happens, if you don't have decoy runners or someone running straight, the playmaker will either die with the ball or kick it.....not ideal.
As I said, it's Benji's job to sort that out.

I watched it again and happy with the effort...Benj was right about Twal...he's looking his fittest ever and worked hard and effectively. Really glad we offloaded Isaih P ...he wouldn't handle the work this group of forwards are getting through
Yes Das. It isn't exactly working out for Isiah P at the Panthers hey.
I like the forwards effort because every week they have pressured the oposition into unforced errors. More than I've seen for several seasons.
Goal kicking was poor. The scoreboard flattered the Knights somewhat.

Galvin botched multiple.plays by either ballhogging, throwing shit passes or poor kicking. Basically might have had another four tries if he didn't screw up.

Luai was good, his kicking game was really solid for us and field position, his organisation of the team was first class, his defence outstanding and he started showing attacking flair. I think some people are just looking to criticise him in here.

Bula and both hookers were sensational. Toa and Turuva very good as well. The forwards were magnificent.

Lastly, the Brailey strip and Turuva calls basically cost us two tries. So scoreline is flattering for the Knights.

Yes our attack is still messy, but I see signs of where it is going and I'll take a win after the last two weeks and we can build from here.
Galvin won't be going anywhere, he's 19 ffs, yes he's got a bit to learn, but he stays in the game for 80 mins.
Him and Luai are still working it out, which was to be expected.
The way both are playing does confuse the defence and opens up the opportunities, look at Bula's try, Ponga was covering both of them on the left and left his side open, he probably wouldn't have scored, if Ponga followed the ball, like he should have.

I don't think Star's going anywhere, anytime soon. He's been injured for so long, TBH, I'd forgotten how good he can be.

I didn't. I said at the start of the season he was clearly our best centre. I think because we lose so much some players get judged too harshly. To'a is one of the form centres in the comp. He outplayed Best and Gagai yesterday.

He has pace and power along with some footwork.

Maybe im biased but I didn't think Starford deserved to go to the bin yesterday, Gagai got hit with a good tackle than carried on like a little b#tch and instigated the scuffle , a player should be able to defend themselves if needlessly confronted by another.

It was ridiculous. I didn't think Gagai should have been sent off.

I think a big area of training this week is for our backs and edge forwards to start running a line when luai is stepping across field. At this stage the team is just watching what he's doing and not offering him options. He's eventually getting tackled but if someone runs a line it brings the pass and kick options into his play. I'm sure we'd score more tries off the back of this

Though, if we don't know, the opposition have no hope.

Unfortunately the NRL is obsessed with evening up penalty and sinbin counts so as to avoid criticism.

The most ludicrous example being the Broncos v Roosters game this week, where the ref had already sent some players to the bin for extremely soft penalties, then keeps players on the field or much more serious high shots later on.

Agree...re- watching Galvin deliver the pass for Toa's try it was pretty slick....he read it perfectly. As frustrating as a lot of Galvin's decisions have been I can imagine the difficulty oppositions will be having in constructing a defensive plan for him. I can see his error rate coming way down this week..starting at training today!

I just watched the replay, Galvin had a hand in the first 2 tries and technically he (& Luai) drew Ponga away from Bula's try?
He's young, doesn't shirk his defence and is always moving in every play.
He has huge potential.
I just posted in his thread, that he has apparently knocked back our offer of $5m over 5 years?

Well, that has changed quickly, it appears he is not interested?
Very strange, some decisions will need to be made.

5 million for 5 years is a great offer for someone that is still learning his trade, good luck to him if he has a better offer than that, regardless it is going to be interesting to see how this pans out considering he still is signed for next season.

I'm just quoting this for some perspective. Galvin has been shit all season.

It's been interesting reading (this thread) after yesterday's game! Quite a lot of impatience (in my opinion only) in regards to Galvin's and Luai's performances yesterday and indeed across the first 6 rounds. I think there was a post stating Luai has been a poor buy which I find astonishing!
A couple of points;
- Benji summed it up very well in the presser..."Our attack wasn't great - We've still got a lot to work on"
- I agree with new combinations things will take time
- Despite keeping them to nil for 79 minutes both Luai and Benji were disappointed in conceding that last try despite it containing a fair slice of luck...if Turuva doesn't slip over whilst turning I think he cleans it up. But the team seems very focused on taking defense seriously something that has been missing for ages and ages.
- As above if whilst they focus on D and the attack takes a bit longer to gel I'm ok with that
- One thing, however, that I couldn't understand was...After scoring 3 tries in the first half with our right side why did we stop going there. In the 2nd half I can't recall attacking through the hands with Galvin, Seyfarth (decoy), Bula, To'a and Turuva at all -> Why? I do not understand that. And yes there should be questions in that regard directed to Api, TDS, Luai & Galvin.
Anyway, it's Monday and we had a win and yep only 6 rounds in but we're in the Top 8 and I've got a smile on my face

- PS -> A wee bit disappointed to read that Galvin has knocked back $1m over 5 years opted to go to the open market come November 1st. Glass half empty view = He just doesn't want to be at the Tigers // Glass half full view = If he wants a same or better offer than that then by God he'd better play well...Bloody Well or $1m plus would be jeopardised!

I'm not even sure if I am the person stating he has been poor but he has been poor. He hasn't been terrible but he hasn't been good and we are paying him elite money. That is a poor return. When I hear off-field stuff and energy etc to me it's an admittance he has been poor.

I'm hopeful he finds form and starts winning us games because we are paying him to do that. I'm not writing him off.

Galvin has been ordinary. Api hasn't been good.

I don't understand why you can't criticize players fairly.

We agree on this but I said at the start of the season we can win the comp. Api, Luai and Latu or Galvin though need to fire. They are the guys that need to improve.

The rest of the team have been fantastic though.

We need to prioritise developing latu from this point on.
