Disappointing loss.

They had a dig which is always good and the forwards are more then holding their own but like others have mentioned, its our jolted attack, especially in the 20.

I was hoping for more from Luai, since he's arrived, he's hardly set the world on fire with his performances, yeah off the field with the new culture thing is great but he should be contributing much more on the field.

Have a look at Esra last night, he was throwing balls all over the place, putting pressure on the defence, Luai...nothing and it’s been like that for 18 months, I hope things change.
Re Luai things aren’t going to change for the better.18 months of mediocrity is more than enough time to get a guage of what he’s capable of.Hes glaringly a very average footballer & an extremely lucky one to be on the lucrative salary he’s on.I so wish he’d activate the exit clause in contract as we could put his salary to much better use starting with offering Bula more money to try entice him albeit I firmly believe the c..t manager & repugnant Gould have already made a deal.

If Benji wants top 4 he has to make some manly decisions that are going to go against the grain big time re Luai. But he needs to be above all that. Luai has to and can play anywhere but the halves .. obviously not up front.. To be fair on Luai he offered to drop to reserve grade or sit on the Bench. Benji didn’t know it at the time but that was good advice. Luai knew it was for the best after his time out.. But Benji missed it. It’s up to Benji now. If he’s not up to making the right decision here we will miss the 8. With Luai playing at 6 we can lose to any team! With madden at 1/2 we can beat any team. .. (maybe madden can play with Luai but I’m not sure things will change, but Benji needs to find out and not sit on his hands like he did yesterday, through bullshit loyalty to Luai and I guess AD)
Luai is being carried at 6. If Benji can find another spot for him his stature as a coach would skyrocket. Me I’d be happy with him on the bench regardless of his pay packet. He’s way too hit and miss to the extremes to rely on for a spot in the 8 never mind the 4)

We f**ked with a halves combo that won 3/3. Madden and doueihi would play both left and right. Luai is stapled on the left.

Not to mention that ridiculous offload off a completed tackle.

Don't like the hate Masi is getting though. Kids only 18, sure he made plenty of mistakes but most young fellas do.
I get what you're saying, but commenting Maka could do with a few cup games to gain confidence and correct a few things isn't hate.

I think Wizardman gave some negative scores yesterday. Negative scores can put the algorithm out of whack.. iether that it he’s extra hungover coz if the 1 point loss. Fk was it just one point. Damn!

I thought madden improved things as soon as he came on..him and AD just clicked back into it ..unfortunately there was so much shit going on around them eg dropped balls, Herbert? getting pushed over the line by Staggs when we were priming for a one pointer in their half etc etc and 17 mins just wasn’t enough.( I was fast forwarding a lot of the last 4-5 mins but from what I saw)
And that floater kick with the mean kick back from Madden omg.. Who else kicks those

Last night was a carbon copy of the Parramatta game. We dominated in every area and struggled to get over the stripe to show our dominance. The only difference obviously was the result.

5 mins or so to go Madden made his first bad mistake .. 20 metres out adjacent to the LH upright he shifted the play left which resulted in Makasini being bundled out by Staggs...that was our last chance to square up with a field goal. I'd also.like to have all three on the field with AD at right centre. Taylan May will be better next week after his first game back. I sure hope Makasini learned a LOT this weekend!

It was maddens straight running that helped them get from before halfway to the 30 m line with the 5th tackle to be played.. Madden with the ball had forwards coming through but they would have been tackled pretty smartly and madden would have had no room to work with unless he back tracked to the 40m..Instead with Luai to his left who may have called for it and then AD then Masi they made it to the 20 .. if masi had stayed in it was prob a better chance of nailing a field goal with a pass from Luai or AD back inside with madden all ready, standing at the 30m on a reasonable angle on his good side..but by then Masi was in lala land and had no consideration of the bigger picture.

I havnt seen Benji so flustered at a presser. He said he bought madden on to try to nail the game. That was the cat out of the bag. He knows he fked up and he may now know what needs to be done? If I was Benji I’d pull api aside and ask him honestly who should play with jock, AD or Luai. Api’s out there. he’s got a feel for it, before and after.

It was my first reaction that he chose wrong when he went left but i'll go along with that

Ahh who knows ..maybe the forwards could have run further and Api could have got it to madden left of centre . It was Sione/Twal who would he taken the ball up..Im sure they thought they should have been given the ball. we’ll never know if Luai was calling for it with AD outside him with a bit of depth and 2 outside AD

JL & Madden in the halves, AD to lock, Skelton on the wing & Masi back to cup for me.

Tavana on the wing.Madden & AD must be in the starting team & Luai will never get dropped hence My 3/4 line would be Tavana AD May Turuva.
I thought they had to get special dispensation for Tavana to play in the game he played, so I'm not sure he is allowed to be permanent?
I went AD at 13 to give us (basically) three attacking options with Twal in the forwards rotation, doing his thing.

If Tavana can’t be selected then it’s a tough one coz all our other options have glaring weaknesses.Id prefer LL over Skelton.I wonder if Herbert could competently handle playing on the wing.

Nah I'm not saying anyone on here is giving it to Masi. It's more the social media hate on Facebook.

And yeah he could do with a couple of weeks in NSW Cup to help him work on a few things.

Overall though, we've been in every game this year. Two losses for a net -5 points is pretty good. When we win, we are generally winning well (sans Parra.) A stark change from years gone. Obviously it's only early days and a long way to go but their attitude is so much better and it's reflected in the results, regardless of which way it has gone.

JL & Madden in the halves, AD to lock

I keep swapping between AD to lock or AD to center.

Our middle forwards have been awesome including Twal at lock and it's hard to change that up. We may lack some grunt through the middle.

At the same time I think AD at center lacks the pace that a lot of outside backs have and I think he can get caught out defensively as well.

I think AD playing that roving lock type role suits him. He is basically playing a running 6 role. I also think Latu comes in and plays the same role and he gives us some spark as well. We could rotate them for periods of time.

The other option is AD and Luai have to figure it out in the halves. Luai though really needs to improve. He can play 7 and he can add a lot to our team.

This is where Benji has to figure it out.
