Eels forward Kelma Tuilagi is facing at least three weeks on the sidelines after being cited for a shoulder charge in the opening minute of his side's Easter Monday win over Wests Tigers.

Tuilagi was charged for a Grade 2 Shoulder Charge on Terrell May in his first carry of the game and while not penalised at the time he was later put on report.

That game also saw his returning captain Mitchell Moses receive a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge which will result in a $1000 fine with an early plea.

Wests Tigers winger Sunia Turuva was also charged following the match for Contrary Conduct for his interaction with Ryley Smith and will receive a $1800 fine with an early plea.

That was the Tigers of prior years yesterday. A completely unfocused, undisciplined rabble. The number of calls that didn't go our way (almost all of them) was very reminiscent of 2024, as was us completely losing our heads as soon as things went against us in the 2nd half.

Hopefully, that was a one off.

I know we're down on troops but some of Naden's defensive reads were atrocious. He needs to go back to reggies IMO and AD back into the centres. Mason gets a go until Latu is fit to come back.

Atrocious officiating aside, my goodness what a collective dumpster fire. Not even getting Sukkar on the field to assist our bench rotation? Insanity. Naden was behind a step or 2 and Toa/Turuva were like strangers with the mistakes and out of position attack they had. Did they sh*t themselves on the stage? Were they that afraid of Mitchell Moses? Jarome Luai was very disappointing and if that's him "taking control" then wow, it's going to be a long season.

On another point - I hate how we take our home games to that freaking CommBank. I hate the Eels fanbase so much and they give it back to us. Why??? Was Homebush or Moore Park not an equally enticing option? The Easter Monday match should always be at Accor Stadium to generate a big crowd.
This! Very poor from Benji not giving Sukkar a go, he handled himself pretty well in his first game. Every week Benji makes some sort of stuff up. He probably needs to sit down when he picks the team and write strategy notes, with exigencies included if things don’t go to plan and stick to it. Would have been better off having Mason on the bench if he wasn’t gonna use his forwards. Mason could’ve added some spark at half back and pushed Naden to the wing with Douehi in the centres. Douehi didn’t do much wrong but he didn’t real add anything in the halves. Lualillii is just not good enough right now, not writing the kid off yet but his defence and positioning needs a lot of work

That ref yesterday had to be on the take, the WT didn't help themselves but he contributed to there performances or lack there of. Moses should have been in the bin for attacking the head of a player while the sin binning of the Parra fulll back was harsh IMO. The favourable decisions from the kickoff going the eels way was astonishing.
Sin bin on Longi was right, he was the last line of defence the ball had cleared him and Toa(?) almost past him and virtually tackled without the ball, any chance he had of scoring was taken away. That sin bin saved Moses, it was the only reason Moses wasn’t given 10. The referees were not refereeing in accordance with the rules, if they were Moses would’ve been gone and the Tigers probably go close to winning. In the end the tigers didnt play well enough as I have said before, you play good footy consistently you take the ref out of the game. Both the bunker and infield refs should be enjoying a stint in nsw cup this week if the NRL are serious

The longi one, if it warranted a sin bin, why wasn't it a penalty try?

You can count on nothing happening when Naden gets the ball ..unless he’s right out in the open by chance. He’s like a rabbit in headlights

No guarantee he would’ve scored, he might have knocked on, toed the ball dead, regathered and been tackled by Longi or any number of scenarios, if he is closer to the tryline maybe it is a penalty try.

The bastard missed 6 tackles yesterday with 3 more ineffective.
I don’t know why this bum has been forgiven for last year and now he’s had a shocker….and selected again.
Are we working on quotas at the selection table?

Makes you wonder..I think it’s just a lack of choice Thanks I missed those missed tackles. I tend to just watch the attack and he’s got not much there….to me it looks like he’s tip toeing through the fkn tulips when he gets the ball

He had a hell of a preseason.....outside May, was probably our best in the preseason matches. Premiership matches are obviously a different deal though. He looked lost out there on Monday.

Quite the athletic specimen that man. His sporting brain though has always been his Achilles Heel.

I just saw that intercept knock down by Addo Carr on Turuvas pass to Bula late in the game..that was soooo close to an easy try ..Fk it we come close to winning that game despite a mountain of incredibly bad decisions.. What’s to feel bad about

Yes but it’s far from time to give up …we did very well to get back in that game and nearly won but for the length of a Ado Cars middle fingernailI prob..I’d rather we lose that game than win with the help of the ref and luck and be stuck with last years team…I think we missed Turuva more than anything else in that game despite his late pass to Bula..Things are not as bad as I’m hearing..

We only got back in the game when facing 11 blokes. As soon as they got their full complement, they continued to show the boys how shit they are.
