We will win this and get smacked by Roosters next week. Penrith are riding a wave of momentum. That stopped on Friday. Cleary has shown in the past he can only cope when his forwards are dominating.

The forwards don't take the hit-ups on the first few tackles of the set though, and we are not great there.
Best makes a huge difference.

No one should dominate our pack. We have three recent or current Origin forwards. It is ridiculous we ever lose a battle in the middle in a one way manner.
I think part of this is on Brailey and our forwards as a group.

We never have multiple forwards looking to take the hit up which would allow Brailey to choose who’d be best bet to get over the advantage line.

we literally do one out runs where a forward will take a hit up on his own and is the easy target for the defense. Imagine saifiti and frizzel both looking for the hit up, the defense has to focus on two then. Or imagine Klemmer going for the hit up then passing onto saifiti where the defense isn’t so up in the line or it might even create an overlap.

It shits me so much when our opponent has the momentum and we try combat it with one out runs where the runner has no support and is an easy target.

This is a structure or play style issue. Just watch Melbourne, they’re always running in pairs.

sorry, that’s my rant for the day.

We’ve lost the battle through the middle in each of the last 3 games. Klemmer, Barnett and both the Saifiti’s whilst solid haven’t been at their best in this period. Frizell was a ball of energy against Cronulla and the rest need to follow his lead.

We have a very good pack but they need to aim up big time over the next 3 weeks against 3 of the best packs in the competition.

That’s pretty much it. Individually, our forwards are top shelf, but I think that as a unit they are ordinary and too one dimensional. It is incredibly easy to shut them down just by getting numbers into the tackle.

And on the occasion an offload does get thrown, it just ends up in the hands of another forward who runs it back to the same spot.

Hard to argue with that. I hope To'a and Tuala are already preparing for the traffic that is going to be coming down their side.

Ever noticed how some clubs unearth a kid like Jones and he succeeds under pressure so they decide to persist another week to see if they are up to it? I don’t get why a kid who is clearly game aware and defensively up for it gets benched cos he was an injury replacement . This club has a long history there. Randall is another example. Tell me Cleary isn’t laughing that he is not playing right centre or starting edge forward this week.

Jones would be exposed badly starting at centre, he's a forward. And he's not better than Friz or Barnett.
Also, he wasn't defending at centre last week either, Mann was.

One game doesn't make a career. He was great last week. Pressure will be on him if he was expected to repeat that again every week. Let him bring his confidence from last week into this week's game from off the bench. Probably play with more freedom this week and can hopefully help us open up the Panthers and also provide enthusiasm and grunt halfway through the game.

I'm excited but nervous to watch the game tonight. A win would be our biggest in many moons. All of our top players will need to be at their best for the entire 80. Those trademark lapses in concentration and intensity simply cannot happen tonight. This is our first test against decent opposition and we haven't looked convincing at all this season. Praying we don't get embarrassed.

I just want 80 minutes of effort. Pretty sure we're going to get torn up on the edges, but it'd just be nice if we don't completely embarrass ourselves here.

Musgrove seems a big upgrade defensively over our other outside backs. Maybe we should play defensively and go with a pairing of Best/Musgrove and Jones/Tuala. Might lose some attacking potential but we would be better defensively.

It might be the nefarious substances that I’ve put in my body during my adulthood talking but I think we’ll get up tonight.

We traditionally perform strongly in Penrith and they’ve got to lose at some point.

Got a good feeling about tonight. Panthers will either come out all guns blazing after last week or will be slightly rocked and there for the taking. We need to score first for sure !!

Depends which Knights team decides to get off the bus. Can't say I'm very confident unfortunately.
