We are in 8th, for now.
I was very pleased with his bench use this week! Barney is better as a balls to the wall (as someone else here once said) player for 50-60 minutes.Probably because otherwise it would be the silky skills of Kurt Mann.
Would be nice if Bradman could be given the ball maybe twice in a game.
One positive was O’Brien finally got the bench rotation right. The fight was there second half. Enough at least to curb the ineptness of the first 40.
Radical thinking, hey?The difference: commitment, stop the errors, stop giving them repeat sets.
He has a huge kick. His gain with one of the penalty kicks was huge. I hate it when they just punt it over the sideline.I liked what I saw from Crossland today at 7. Have to persist with him. I'm sure he'll get his hands on the ball more often with time there
Yep, that was me, following last week. It played out today, despite the rubbish start.I was very pleased with his bench use this week! Barney is better as a balls to the wall (as someone else here once said) player for 50-60 minutes.
Watson off the bench is better for our team too. Even though he's been solid as a started, I think him off the bench is a better dynamic for the team.
And also as Seage said, today does not mean too much if we can't build off it and put in a real good performance against the Tigers next week.
Well done to Conor, finally someone gets to celebrate a milestone game with us.
Agreed. No idea why he hasn't been used more often and in one consistent position. Young halves need time in first grade and he was a gun in the lower grades. He looked keen and alive out there and that's more than we can say about our other options.I liked what I saw from Crossland today at 7. Have to persist with him. I'm sure he'll get his hands on the ball more often with time there
It was the same last year, but no-one wanted to have a bar of it at the time. There has been some real red flags in Klemmer's performances all year - he gets through a bit of work, but his carries are really low impact and he's lost his offload. Add that to the mental lapses today, and you almost want to reduce his minutes further - but he's the opposite of a bench impact forward, so that doesn't really work either. Rule changes have really reduced his value in a team..
absolutely....keep him there and coach him...I liked what I saw from Crossland today at 7. Have to persist with him. I'm sure he'll get his hands on the ball more often with time there

Here's a reminder of the David Klemmer we bought:
I'm not sure I'm even that happy with just blaming the rule changes, tbh. I don't know what his go is, but he's not the barnstorming prop that we thought we were getting unfortunately. I can't knock his work ethic, but he's way slower now and has far less venom in him in general. As you said, offload is gone too.
- Ponga needs the ball in his hands all the time. Every set, two or three times. Even if it's just to pass it one wider to a forward. He is our magic man.
