Match review committee Charges

Be almost funny if it didn’t happen to our boys so damn often .

Come mid week it will be McGuire who is handed a two week ban for whatever he was put on report for tonight. Just like last week Sims getting a game when Rapana's kneeing off Lawrie's head and some big forward is shouldering our player's head off.

Surely this all ends when we are a good team again?

Straight to trash.

Game is losing a lot of money at the moment. Whatever keeps young Cleary poster boy in the game is good for them.
The Dragons are losing a lot of credibility which will result in them losing fans which means there will less Dragons followers tuning into games so advertising will suffer in any case. If consistency of the rules is applied, then fans will have faith in the NRL to do the right thing and not feel hard done by all of the time.

I just sent an email to the NRL showing that picture and asked the question why the ref didn't put Cleary on report. I wonder if I'll get any reply?
Dear Dragon David

On behalf of the NRL we thank you for bringing this matter to our attention as it is clear we missed this incident.

After reviewing the footage and attached photo we have suspended Jack Bird for the rest of the season for attacking the head and neck of Nathan Cleary with his forearm.

The referee and bunker staff will be stood down for allowing Bird to remain on the field as he should have been immediately been sent off.

Again on behalf of the NRL we thank you for ensuring that such matters are dealt with.

Yours truly,

Judiciary Committee

Hook brought up Cleary's blatantly obvious shoulder charge at the presser.

Meanwhile, on the fox panel, Cronk, when put on the spot, says it was a shoulder charge.

Brandy just sits there with his shit-eating grin saying it was cleared by the bunker.

Then the whole panel just erupts into laughter then change the subject to bbq-gate and the Dragons are gone.

Can't have the golden child missing from the game.

Utter rigged bollocks...
Alexander is the epitome of arrogance and hypocrisy. I can’t stand him.

He’s the same bloke who accused Anthony Milford of “stealing money” from the broncos… then only a few days later on the back page was joking about his time at the Warriors as “being paid to play golf”…

This was Fittlers reaction to the same thing…Not as bad as what you’ve described of Alexander (I didn’t watch it but can see it exactly as you suggested) but you can see the same protectionism of the golden child..

On ya Hook finally spoke up about how we have been dudded with some of our sin bins suspensions
Good diversion instead of speaking about the 4/16 recent record of our teams performances

But the media match review committee and Clearys have spoken. Sorry Hook it has been cleared, nothing wrong there no influence on the MRC
Even the Penrith legend GUS has weighed in on the debate.
Annesley will tell all in his weekly press conference of 2 non football minded gagged journos watching showing frame by frame evidence how that was not a sin bin.
Fine sufficient coming to show we have a tough MRC. Others get 1-2

The media will go after Hook for even bringing it up, how dare he!

This little nugget encapsulates the sickening bias that pervades our game. Nathan will walk free from this. He will be free to play and the likes of Fittler, Gould and Alexander will be pigs in mud calling their golden boy. Who is Ravalawa to them. Just another player who doesn't play for the Blues or Panthers.

It's ok for broadcasters to have opinions but if Bird stays down there with concussion or even plays for it they change their tune immediately to be ambassadors for safety.

You look at the look on Cleary jnr and snr faces, on Brandy's and Fittler's when questioned on it- they hold Griffin in such contempt.

It's not just Dragons that cop the raw end. Parra is another clearly out of favour team that those on fox and nine are happy to use for their own gain.

The trick is for the discerning rugby league fans to find those few commentators that don't hang on to bias and call a spade a spade and a shoulder charge a shoulder charge.

You couldn't ask for a more blatant shoulder charge, drops his shoulder, aims for centre mass and drives in making no attempt to use his arms. The impact not only jolts the ball free, it also lifts Bird off the ground. He should have milked it, that's the way it's done these days, the refs need a hand sometimes, especially when it comes to policing the top teams fairly.

Why Alexander is even on the panel discussing a panthers game is laughable. The whole commentary last night on fox was embarrassing to say the least. Some of the stuff Ennis said re Cleary was over the top.
Good on Hook anyway for bringing it up & I reckon he’ll be talking to Annesley at some stage on Monday.
Last year I would have been happy to see Penrith win but some of these knobs in the media almost makes you want to see them fail now.

I can see that it will be open slather from now on guys. There will be others who will be replicating this type of shoulder charge and they can say that they were doing the same defence as Cleary as he is a role model player, playing for a role model club so if that is how you can tackle from now on, then that is why we will do it.

What a complete farce! I'm out of here with this inconsistent shit.

The referee’s decisions are bad enough in themselves , but they absolutely shatter the confidence of the opposing team .

You simply cannot afford to give a top tier team a gift 6 points and then the culprit gets off scott free for a tackle which has been outlawed by the NRL supremo himself .

The refs act upon instructions received from their boss which I can guarantee are - do not interfere with the makeup of the potential semi-finalist - the NRL requires the big stars of the game to get the big bucks .

The only other point I will make is the disgusting behavior of the commentary team from 9 . They are suppose to unbiased in their comments, however their flippant attitude towards fairness for all teams tends to sag as do the lowering jowls of their aging jawlines .
