Not really, he's not holding onto the ball as it is, so why should he be given more of it?? Half the time he gets up smiling, half the time he stomps the ground and doesn't get back into the defensive line.

Hope for your sake, he picks up his attitude next year.

i think he's actually quite effective in his adjusted role, he's just not 100% committed to it, if he somehow was, he could potentially be a more consistent and complete player

I think the move to the Warriors for him will do him a world of good. It's evident that he and DA don't get on the best and I think next year he will play the type of footy we were expecting him to play this year.

I agree, it's been all down hill for Feleti since Anderson took over.

That's like saying Hayne should be dumped from 1st grade because he's not going to play as a frontrower. It's the coaches job to optimise a players ability in relation to the style of footy and position they play in 1st grade and DA isn't doing that with Mateo.

He's played like sh*t all season. No more excuses, he's been lucky not to get axed with the careless footy he's played ALL YEAR.

Sorry but every time I see him lumbering along on the field like a giant slug with no urgency and then throwing ridiculous passes when even I know that the pass wasnt on I could just poke my eyes out so I dont have to watch anymore. Good luck to him and Inu, good luck to the Warriors and their fans but I will not be sad to see them go. Hopefully my bloodpressure can get back to a somewhat normal range next year (or maybe not!)

Ive got rid of Mateo in my fantasy league sides such is his poor form of late

(put carney in to 5/8th and Gidley at fullback )


To me, he looks either a bit unfit or is just not focused enough on the eels. I would play him of the bench and used solely as an impact player, from memory when he came back from injury last year he played well of the bench. Then again if his head space is not 100% with the eels, its much of a muchness

Not sure how far away Shackleton is from a comeback. But I dare say if he was ready in a couple of weeks time, Mateos position in the side is vulnerable

Having said all that, I would like nothing else to see Mateo back at his best helping the eels secure a semis birth and then go out a premiership winner, all still very realistically possible

Last year Mateo played off the bench behind Lowrie and was his most useful there. hasn't really looked like a player worth a s***load, great person but hasn't aimed up really for a while

For him and Inu, hope they go well at the Warriors, but not sure if they are 24/7 type players.

Anyone would be more than happy to leave with such a massive bump in pay. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's been sh*t all season, sloppy yes, but sh*t?No. If you want to fault him for being sh*t, you'd also go on a massive field day on just about every player that's been making mistakes this year, yes there's alot, enough such that I don't think targeting individuals for a team's lack of consistency is the right thing.
