Matt Adamson back to Penrith 2007

Doesn't surprise me as throughout his time in Canberra he was in love with Elliott.

Should be an interesting move, considering I know a lot of Penrith fans hate his guts...

There's an article somewhere that says he's set to be our assistant coach next year. I'm happy to have him.

Mulholland is not the assistant coach.

There is an invisible assistant coach called Dave Stores apparently, who sits in a box and relays stuff to Lang via radio.

I think Mulholland is just someone to rant at during the game when Langy gets the sh*ts.......and god knows he needs to vent a lot with our guys lately....:(

Yeah, Stores was Lang's assistant at Cronulla. Do you still have our old Flegg coach, Steve someone?

Steve Georgalis coaches premier league now if that's him. Brett Kenny coaches flegg.

Since this isn't PI can someone tell me why everyone hates him exactly? I thought he left mostly because his daughter needed an operation overseas.

He was my favourite player when I was a kid and he was on the wing for us.

Think back to the wooden spoon year, 2001 or more precisely the 2nd half of that year. Matty A led the chorus that eventually resulted in the sacking of Royce Simmons. Girds and Gower were also accused of being involved but there was no substance to that. Matty A also re-signed with the club for a further 2 or 3 years but as soon as John Lang was appointed coach, he approached the club for a release, which was given. His backstabbing ways have followed him though-out his career, given he wasn't happy when he left Parramatta for us, was a disruptive force in his later years while with us (despite being one of our better players on the field); was also apparently the cause of one of the UK SuperLeague coaches getting sacked early this season. He has a record and a bad one at that. Penrith do not require a disruptive influence at our club, we can do enough of that on our own without him being around.

Even his brother, Phil, admits that there is a lot of negative vibes towards Matty from the Penrith fans and was looking forward to Matt's return to Penrith when he was playing for Canberra.

It was the way he left too. In one of his statements if I recall correctly was that Penrith will never win a premiership so he was going to a club that will.

I started getting jack of him when he carried on about being a rep player, then somehow he was given a blue jersey, the only time that season I think I saw him play great...

As a panther fan my last memories of Matt A are forever sitting on the bench with some so called injury or such. To me it seemed like he only ever wanted to play when it was rep time...

The way we are travelling in the recruitment of new players to the club, Matt Adamson will have to wear two hats.

He may have to pull the boots on again and be a Playing - Assistant Coach.
