As stated by others the commentators singing his praises & rightly so on his attacking display last night was sickening but It's been common knowledge that he's been available for a couple of years now with no takers, Why?
There are really only two possibilities & they are the dogs & broncos but even they're not exactly rushing in to sign him. There is obvious something else behind the scenes that we don't know about so I'll just leave it to the club to make the decision.

Agree it’s currently a business decision, Duffman & his manager want $600k & the Dragons don’t want to pay him that amount. It’s a standoff & the Dragons brought it to a head last week. Will be interesting week ahead but very happy we finally started the weekend with a win sick of being depressed all weekend.

If Ramsay is the clubs idea of our future first grade fullback - and by all accounts they believe that - then we are in big trouble.

Duff is 25...his best years are the next 4-5.

Looking at some of Ramsay's attempts of catching the high ball last night were red flags.

Duff's defence is his major weakness that's for sure...he is just not bigger bodied like a slater or minichello for example.

But his attack and ballplay are invaluable...better than Boyd was, and is even more threatening than hunt and norman combined.

With JBD back with his ball playing skills as a forward, I see our attack for the rest of the year is going to get really dangerous.

we need on the team, I was 50/50 , he is a must keep, even of the bench , swap him with Norman , dam just keep him
I like all of the Dufty posts tonight. Without him we may not have won. He is the key to our future success under Griffin. He leaves and we will have nothing.

Ramsey who? He has hands like feet and can finish a try but lacks creativity and is easily handled in defence.

If we lose Dufty, my god PLEASE ACTIVATE A SACK GRIFFIN THREAD.
Have a quick whisper in Hook’s ear Webby - before it’s too late

Duff is a spectator drawcard who will keep the turnstiles clicking & the money rolling in.

Those tries were only scored because of Duff’s speed, passing, timing & Xfactor creativity.

Hook is old school (not my labelling), as stubborn & cautious as McFail and just as comfortable with no-frills mediocrity

- obviously preferring the likes of Williame, Pereira, Norman, Beale, Burns, Molo etc.

He will not attract a marquee or elite player to our ranks
... they’d rather the Dogs or Sharks it would seem?

...and he’s losing the fan base at a rapid rate over his ridiculous failure to come clean on Duff.

He could easily just say his asking price is beyond us
....or he’s just as fuc/ked in the brains as Lovechild Norman
...or won’t play safe as instructed
... or refrain from those silly tryscoring passes to Rav & Cody

But watch this space
.... he’ll gladly antagonise the fan base & defy credulity by extending Norman, Williame, Pereira & Beale IMO.
‘Backup’ to his ‘plans’ of course, but retained on the books nevertheless FFS.

But not Duff
..Anywhere

Hook’s ego is as grand as Waterboy’s it seems

- and again he’s made our coach’s judgment (& stupidity) the centrepiece of NRL discussion FMD.

Without Duff we’d’ve probably won 1 game IMHO

...& Hook would’ve been just about on the chopping block or out the door by now.

He’s probably saved your bacon thus far Anthony

Had he not been injured we’d’ve probably won most of those games too
... & been well entrenched in the 8.

Make the call Webby
... & end this farce

Who is actually available that's better? Or are you guys going to rely on the young bloke next year?

A petition? FFS, yeah that’s the answer.
Then as soon as Duff is getting dragged out over the sideline, dropping bombs under pressure, out of position in defence they’ll be the first ones to say drop Dufty and give Ramsay a go!
Probably all the supporters on the Facebook page 🙄

Matt Duffty is a small running 6. Have no idea whether he can kick. In the last two years he has shown an excellent improvement in passing. Our current six can't run as well or pass as well but is an average kicker and costs 800k. They both are average defenders at best although Norman has been braver in the tackle this year. Maybe Dufty would be an upgrade at 6. Not that different to Cody Walker really.

If he can get that elsewhere good luck to him.

Know what he's on now?

Dufty could very well get that pay day he is looking for, Brisbane last night and the Bulldogs next week.

He has all the attacking weapons any fullback would need and you would think if Canterbury give the Dragons as much opportunity as we did last night, he will have another day out.

These are a list of Current Fullbacks in the NRL off the top of my head... Where do people think Dufty Ranks amongst these..

Ie - who is he better than....

Mine are in order

Trbojevic
Tedesco
Tuivasa Scheck
Papenhuyzen
Mitchell
Gutherson
Ponga
Nicoll-Klokstad
Brimson
Hynes
Laurie
Kennedy
Edwards
Allan
Walsh
Holmes
Watene Zelezniak
Hoy
Isaako

I may have missed a few, apologies.

For me - and i'm honestly not being vindictive or smart - he'd sit around Walsh/Holmes.. Walsh is only new and has incredible talent, no doubt will rocket up the charts next year. Ie Walsh has far more upside IMO than Dufty.

I can only rank confidently rank him above Hoy, Isaako, and possibly Watene Zelezniak.

We currently have the best collective quality of fullbacks I can recall. Maybe he does need a positional shift....

Agree.
And as I’ve said, had we shafted Norman for Duff at 6
at the outset this year
we’d be Top 4
... and I’d like, for interest, to see the anti-Duff brigade argue that to the contrary
