Collis or Lawrence as your preferred 5/8?

Personally I'd go with Collis.

(Note for the knockers - I'd rather see Benji there, with Head at 1/2...)

I don’t think they should re-sign head. Sign Lewis

Head has not gone as good as everybody thought. He is clearly still fragile – doesn’t take the line on, probably the worst defender in the NRL but most importantly he hasn’t dominated or even controlled the team around the park. It would be risky to offer a 2 or 3 year deal which is what he would be after – considering bar first couple of game he hasn’t really showed much.

The talk of marshall is hopefully a smokescreen.

Last year Tigers were actually trying to Woo Lewis back ‘home’ to the tigers – but they werent able to sign him because they had no room under the cap for that year.

Lewis has a great long and attack kicking game like head. Aswell as good passing instincts – a little bit bigger, plus more competitive.

I have to agree with you, Head has been great BUT it's compared to the sh*t that was playing halfback before. If you take a step back and look a little bit more objectively he's not dominated any games for us at all. I've been saying for weeks sign him on for another year tops, any longer than that and we'll regret it.

Head played awesome for us early on when he was in control.

however since farah and marshall have come back he has obviously been told to play third fiddle to them, actually probably fourth to hodgo.

Playing no7 behind our pack would be a challange for anyone.
As for Benji at no7, didnt work last year
as for Lawerence at no6 cant pass from left centre to his winger so heaven help us if he is our no6.

I dont know what game Sheens is playing but with his vision 2009 is looking very bleak

Sheens has said he won't be signed. Further, he is, apparently, likely being yanked from the next game. That's the rumour anyway.

But will it be the next Cronk, Or the next Thurston, at HB?

Hey guys , Mathew Head is a player whom runs of the back of a forward pack , he wont grab a game by the scruff of its neck and throw it around but what he will do is always play solid and keep you in the game, with a effective forward pack he can really dominate mwith his kicks too , I used to be head over heels for this bloke, all he needs is a running playmaker to take the line on and ease the pressure of his body due to previous injuries and a couple of decent forward to set himself up with some space

Also it is time Hodgson let loose some of his control on the game and gave it to Head , because after all he is the general...

Forget Lewis, how about Brad Davis? He looked pretty good last night, a few mistakes but a very good kicking game and threw some beautiful passes as well. Probably needs a bit more development but as a prospect he looked pretty good. Not sure how old he is or his contract but just a thought.

The other noticeable thing last night was Manly's line speed in defence. If the Tigers want to figure out how to defend, watch some of that game and look at Glenn Stewart.

He, along with the rest on the under 20's are to raw. They need at least half a season coming off the bench then slowly be integrated in to the starting squad as a full time first graders but with a lesser role before you can pass judgment.

Sign Head for 2 years.

He can be starting half next year while we blood either Moltzen, Dunley or Lazurus and then he can play back up in '10 after Morris gets the a$$.

Well, the situation has got me buggered. I cannot fathom how WT's management can be happy with the situation that has developed, but they seem to be. Nothing has been said in any way that would seem to be a shot across Sheens bow in terms of his attitude to some players and plans for the future.

All I can say is god help us- more of the same old same old is not good enough since it has not succeeded in the 3 years since we won the premiership. THERE MUST BE A RECKONING AT SOME STAGE. Management will have to justify their inaction.

BTW- how in the world did they sneak in re-signing Sheens again for 3 more years without any serious degree of consideration of other options? It's not as though his record for us is outstanding.
