The irony is that the Sharkies released King because they were unable to recognise his talent so he left to become a genuine rep player with the Storm.
Meanwhile the Sharkies sign a slow run of the mill reserve grade winger from the Tigers named Luke and try to convince everyone that just because he can kick goals occasionally, he is NRL standard.

I would suggest that everytime Matt King steps onto the field for the Storm, NSW or Australia he is giving the finger to the Sharkies .

Yep i love that story. He was lucky to get a game in the Cronulla seconds so he jumped in his sh*tbox car and headed to Melbourne where we found him pulling beers behind a bar. The rest as they say is history ;-)

Pretty funny.

I guess King has opened himself up to being a massive target of abuse for opposition fans.
I wonder if it stems from his days as a reserve grade winger with the Woolaware Scum.

It tells me the fans got to him somewhat.....

Sounds like that. Although it was all done in good humour and barely worth reporting.

To save himself any further grief, he has had to come out and apologised, so its kind of backfired. Players have done worse. They usually forgotten because its laughed off and not caught on camera.

Glenn Morrison only has to look at some tigers fans to get the blood boiling.

Matt King though doesnt come across as the type of player opp fans love to hate.

I like Matt King. He's a character, and the game is lacking them at the moment.

This is a bit of a laugh. He's just giving it to the fans who gave him plenty throughout the day.

I'm sure if we meet in the semi's a much bigger Dragon Army will be ready and waiting give it to him again.

No big deal. The game needs characters. Doesn't really deserve punishment, although because it was caught on camera, the NRL will probably punish him needlessly.

You have nothing DPG

Matty Kings a champion player, always good to see opposition players both copping and giving a few sledges to the home fans- it's a part of the game ;-)

Good on him, I bet he got it back in spades.

I'm just surprised Barrett hasn't done the same thing.

But he has, to his whole team since his return. None from 3 with the Tampon in. Ouch.
