People who indicate they're going to turn but then almost bring their vehicle to a complete halt before turning the wheel[/QUOTE]

This is the worst. It must cause so many accidents from these dick holes.

I love how the apologists for this merkin minimise what he has actually done, whilst at the same time exaggerating anything positive about him. Like Greenberg and others saying he's been out for 3 years when its 2 seasons and less than 2 1/2 years. Hell let's just round it up to 3.
I was unsure whether to call it out or join the bidding war.

Then I read these:

Well he was accused but not convicted of that so we can't really judge him for it.

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/nrl-s-panthers-would-welcome-lodge-gould
"Gould revealed he offered Lodge a lifeline after he was let go by the Wests Tigers, however, withdrew the offer after a domestic violence incident, to which the promising young prop pleaded guilty but no conviction was recorded."

In fact he pled guilty and was convicted in the Local Court. On appeal to the District Court he again pled guilty but this time a conviction was not recorded.
Is that the same as accused but not convicted?

For a start living 6 months in a place for addicts.

Lodge : "I stayed in a rehab facility for six weeks"

Let's just call it 6 months.

No he said wasn't aware of it until it was done and he tried to contact their legal people but nothing happened and he found out about it all in the paper.

Did you even watch the interview? Here it is:

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...e/news-story/6d62e82cb319a3f2d5349b50585e5593
7:02 - Lodge "I did get a phone call from my lawyer in the criminal case asking me if I wanted them to represent me in the criminal case."

People are letting their bias slant their how they interpret the facts.

Well owned.

Its always going to be hard to categorise where the bar should sit about being given a second chance to become a multi millionaire sports star.
Smacking the Mrs about? nah we can live with that.
Stomping on someone's head who you've attacked? Yep we can allow redemption here
Assaulting and terrorising a family in their own home - everyone deserves a second chance, just an error

It does seem murder, rape and molestation are probably the only offences that would see a sine die ban in the NRL.

But hey the game doesn't abandon people, what a morally sound game we are.

Packer served his time. Our game is turning criminals into good boys.

Well owned.

In the interview he said he wasn't convicted of the charge from his misses. That's what I was going off. That says something completely different. Heppy to be corrected.

6 weeks - 6 months. Sure you can see where the mistake came from randomly recalling facts off the top of my head. Doesn't change the fact that he actually did more than the nothing people want to say he's done.

I just prefer facts over narrative.
Also, I will give you credit for not discounting the seriousness of his actions, like others have.

Oh for sure it's serious as anything and I'm glad the NRL at least turned him away at first.

I just can't completely advocate for a life ban because I don't want to be a hypocrite.

I also think even 1 foot out of place and these guys should be absolutely wrecked as far as league goes.

Yeah, nah.
He said he was contacted but didn’t want to be represented because he was in too much debt.

Like I said, 6 weeks in two seasons is piss weak.

The Broncos want a cheap prop, they don't give two shits about Lodge or the damage it's doing to our game.

I hope it’s a KPI in the new strategic plan. SureLy there most be some govt money available for the nrl’s criminal rehab program?

To be honest they should use hi profile things like sport to set a good example like this. young people in the wrong path in life are much better served and we can hopefully get less of the behavior in society in future.
