As much as Nathan Hindmarsh has done for us over the years, I think it's time for Nath to do the honourable thing and hang up the boots. For years Nathan has been the rock for our team, making those blockbusting runs, making those last ditch effort tackles on attackers about to score, he has been an immortal for us.
But over the period of last year and this year, it is very apparent that he really isn't being as effective as he could be anymore. His attack isn't as penetrating as it used to be, his punishing defence isn't as it used to be as the majority of the tackles he gets credited for is mainly 2nd or 3rd man in finishing off the tackle. He has become a passenger and isn't giving us as much as we need for him to make a mark on every game.
It would be a tremendous shame if we were to leave him out of our team seeing as he has been such a talisman of our club. Maybe it would be best if at the end of this season, he wraps up the awesome career he has forged before it is tarnished even more.
You will always be an Eels legend Nathan. I don't want to remember you as the passenger you are now compared to the gladiator you used to be.
