Its fairly simple teams attacking quick dummy halfs add doubt to the minds of the opposition, coaches make sure they have enough players around the dummy half to counter any attack in case players like Cook, Smith or Grant decide to run. This can create gaps out wide if teams dont slide quick enough in defence. If you are playing the Dragons there is no need to allow for such a senario McCullough is slow & rarely runs so no need to keep players aware around our dummy half. They can instead focus on moving up quick in defence to cut off our attack due to the slow service being provided, that means 5/8's & outside backs have less room to move and are far less effective.

The dummy half is a critical position these days & can impact on the whole team's performance, IMO until that is fixed we will continue to struggle big time. If Hook loves McCullock so much and thinks he needs him in the side for defence move him to lock although my preferred position is also the car park !

All I know is we are seriously looking at another hooker, trying before season end, but more likely next year. CM is a good young player and will become a handy back-up, either from KOE Cup or from 1st grade bench. The priority is getting the targeted player though.
I hope the target is say mid 20's and is an all rounder with quick service and good defence.

The Storm and Cameron Smith showed RL the value of good hooker.
They continue to utilise this today with not one but two great hookers.
Why has SGI not acted as this aspect of the game ??
You just scratch your head and wonder.
Saints have one of the better hookers in their top 13 but choose to play him at halfback. One Sullivan is fit and ready to play first-grade, I'd like to see him at 7 and Hunt at 9.

McCullough, gotta go

He has gotta go surely
shit service dummy half
too slow pass and not even crisp and hitting mark , like other good hookers at good clubs do
by the time the player gets ball defence is on top of them
If he could do this at least it would be OK

Now missing tackles
No running or kicking game
WTF is he doing there
rather have a young kid like amone play the whole game there

Couldn't agree more. McCulloch was a poor buy in the first place All good NRL dummy halves can throw a bullet 30m pass from the ruck. McCulloch's passes arrive the day after tomorrow. Hunt is a poor organizing halfback and should
be moved to hooker. Jaiden Sullivan(when fit) to half back. Griffin's coaching is like button-up shoes- old fashioned and out of date. Hell, the team can't even put on a set play from a scrum or tap restart. Ben Hornby has done a good apprenticeship under Wayne Bennett and could be the man to lead us out of premiership wilderness.

What a blunder, but a broken down hooker, at the end of his career, sign him for 3yrs,
When he breaks down, don't have a backup.Nice work STGI.
