Good on him and well played. You don’t play over 300 NRL games without being a tough & committed bugger.

He has done the right thing by the club and himself.
Nothing left to prove, except beginning a post life career & enjoying his family time.
On Sen radio they were saying he can't lift one of his shoulders above his head.
He will have to put up with that for the rest of his life.
He will he interviewed on Sen radio this morning by Matt White.

Good luck to you in the future Macca, I think we all realised that the time has come, you have been an ornament to the game and promoted RL the way it should be. You have made the right call and I for one wouldnt mind seeing you assist somewhere in our pathways, you have a good culture and promote stability and have always shown a great work ethic, all the best in the future, champ !!!

Good to see it’s finally on the official site, i though it was pretty poor form that the club didn’t announce it first. I know he’s only been with us for 2 years but he still deserves some respect.

McCullough has always been a model player, really typical of the kind of effort and representation you want from those playing for your club.

Really says a lot that, even after that horrid ACL injury where he never quite came back the same, he was always able to find a contract until he simply couldn't for health reasons. Because Macca was a far more valuable member of a team than simply his dummy half service.

And he retires without fanfare or making a big deal about it. Great player and club man. Hope he has involvement with the NRL in some form into the future. Go get that Dolphins coaching money Andrew

An overall great person on and off the field and hopefully his future will be taken care of for himself and family. Cheers Macca!
Further to the above, Macca will be doing stuff for both the Broncos and the Dragons.
Maybe the Corporate stuff that he will be doing for us is some way of paying him off?

MCCULLOUGH OPENS UP ON ‘STRANGE’ NEW CHAPTER

Recently retired Andrew McCullough has opened up on life after the NRL, admitting it’s a little “strange” returning to the Broncos, where he made his debut 15 years ago.
McCullough made the decision to hang up the boots a week ago and has since moved into an off-field role with both the Broncos and Dragons – the club he spent the last two seasons of his career with.
The 32-year-old is a game development manager with the Broncos, while also being a part of the Dragons’ corporate team.
McCullough returned to his home town, Dalby on his first day with the Broncos to run clinics for local kids.
He told the Broncos’ website that it was “strange” being back involved with the club but he knows it’s where he belongs.

“It’s good, it feels right and (I’m) just excited and grateful to not just the Broncos but also the Dragons for working it all out and the opportunity as well,” McCullough said.
McCullough, who played 309 NRL games, also revealed more detail about his roles and why explained why he’s able to work for rival NRL clubs
.
“It just worked out, there’s no conflict of interest in regards to first grade stuff or scouting or coaching one particular position against one another,” he said.
“It was more so to be able to give back to the Broncos’ development, whereas the Dragons is more corporate and game day stuff down in Sydney throughout the year.
“It’s unique but it sort of made sense from both sides so I’m just grateful for both clubs.”

You reckon. There is more than 1 way to skin a cat or retire an NRL player. 🤔

It’s no longer an art form the way clubs retire off players and then pay it out in the form of a job within the club say at 40 or50% of their contract. Hell they don’t even have to attend work to get it! All this under the nose of the salary cap auditor . Nothing will happen as it is now standard practice by all clubs. Good to see us being savvy on this.
