Well, Bennett showed us how to win, and we all want to win. So we need to replicate it.
We are probably going to finish the season in a similar position to what we did in 2008.

Replicate what we did in the 2008 offseason. The squad is of a similar talent. The forwards need some tweaking. Does this all ring a bell? History does repeat itself sometimes.
Next season, Mary should be aiming for something similar to what we did in 2009. Being a consistently good footy side that other teams are going to dread to play. No need to come up with over complicated offensive plays; improve thier fitness and defence. The attack will come naturally with marshal and widdop.
The answers are already there, we don't have too look too far into the past to find them.

Mary is not to blame for the decision.
He played his hand perfectly.

Am I against it? Yes.
But it is now what it is. Timing was crap, and review very questionable. Ok, so we move on.

I just hope, like has become the norm, that these deals / contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. I hope that somewhere in the 55 page document, there is accountability, performance based indicators and provisions for the Club to act without massive financial detriment.

It is incumbent now on Mary to produce the goods. That starts tomorrow.
The whole saga does not sit well with me, but its now done and dusted and I cant wish ill will toward the team.

Just hope like in any business, the minimum standards applied , stay firm again. We are no longer in a re-building phase. We have a representative backline, international halves, and some quality upfront with Benny, Friz, Mez etc.

2015 anything short of a solid top 8 finish is a failure. Period.

All reasonable and the least we can expect.

Yep coast, that why i said it starts tomorrow mate.
But If i hear re-building again, i may just go ballistic.
We are shy 1-2 forwards... thats it. :D

I agree, we are on the verge of having a very good roster and 1 or 2 forwards will put us in the top 4. Hopefully the right players also get cut

Interesting you say that. Read an article today on line cant remember where, but Mary said something along the lines of "making the hard calls as to retention"... If I did it up, I will post it.

O'Brien could be one to fill that void he's still a bit raw but the ability and potential is there just a matter of timing.

Its going to be hard to find that right type of forward who can add straight away alot of off contract players don't really fit the bill.

GT, here it is.

"The place needs stability and needs a person in that position who can forward plan the football department," McGregor said. "Coaching is a strong business and to do that you have to forward plan.

"In the coming weeks I'll have the opportunity to have an in-depth look at what's needed to be done and make some tough decisions. I'm hard but fair and very honest. If that means we don't have the same playing roster or coaching staff, time will tell.

"I'll look at [the review] for myself initially but if I see fit that I need some expertise I'm open to that. As a player I always thought that the time you stop learning is the time you should retire. I'm the same as a coach."

Yeah I read that, Mary is good at giving you confidence and is a straight shooter. There are a few things that most of us agree on that need to be done so hopefully he fixes that in terms of the roster. I think Mary holds everyone accountable. He has the right attitude and hopefully he also has the skill set to match. I think signing O'Brien could cover our ass if there isn't any credible options for next season. He certainly has the size

Has a ways to go O'Brien but is better then Groat and Ailamoai who imo are both rubbish and not needed.

Groat is off contract and not needed in the Cutters. Ailamoai has done some good things but has a few errors in him, very powerful though. I'd have him ahead of Hunt. Speaking of which I actually had a nightmare last night that Hunt was playing against the titans and thru a forward pass and gave away 2 dumb penalties all in the 1st 10mins!
