McGregor or Barrett or Browny

1 Brown
2 Barrett
3 Mary.

I am actually surprised to see that so many posters picked Brownie as first pick. I would be very happy for us to sign Brownie to coach us. I think he would get us playing a good brand of footy. I think he has a good eye for talent. He also has Saints in his heart.

Brownie by far. What he was able to do through the noughties with far less coaching pedigree than McJetski was brilliant, he basically built our 2010 premiership team and he's won an ESL comp.

I'd then go Barrett.

Then I'd flick through dozens of other players who've played for us that haven't yet proven to be failures before I'd get to Mary.
What coaching pedigree does McGregor have?

Brown ? Your kidding me had a team to win three premierships but couldn't even make a gf had a gun young 5/8 by the name of Trent Barrett who we never saw the best of him due to this muppet of a coach , brown and price and mcgreger would fight out a three way finish as to who wins the title of dragons worst ever coach award

Understand your comment(don't agree with it but each to their own)but the thread is Brown, Barrett or Mary. On that basis Brown is the best qualified of the 3 with Barrett seemingly on an upward curve and Mary still with the training wheels on.
For me, Browny by a mile.

So just to be clear, you're not a fan of Mary??

He might be a nice guy and all that and l have no problem with that.

The problem l have is we are paying millions of dollars to professional first grade footballers to set the standard.......... so why do we have a coach who doesn't make the grade / match the standard?

Would we employ this guy as coach if he had not played for the Dragons?
I think not. There lies our problem.......a problem we've just given an extension to.

Is it any wonder the fans are furious!

Totally agree. Our clubs priority appears to be to look after themselves first and worry about what happens on the field second. Shameful.

Brown first, daylight second.

He is a good coach; even Bennett remarked how he had left the club in a good place after his departure in 2008. While Brown obviously won't win a title with the Knights, he will set up a solid foundation for future success in a similar mould to what Paul Roos did with Melbourne in the AFL.

And, for the detractors who denounce Brown as being unable to steer the side to at least a grand final appearance, do you NOT remember how referees Mander and Clarke screwed the Dragons over against the Tigers and Storm respectively in 2005/06?

Yes, I am blaming those brace of blatant cheats for the utter despair experienced at that particular time.
