Even Mark Gasnier has claimed that Nathan Brown was the best coach he ever played for. That's a big wrap seeing the amount of rep team coaches he also played under plus Bennett. I've never heard a bad word spoken against Nathan and they claim he's a wonderful teacher of the game.
I feel very sorry for him at the Knights......he literally has a pile of shit to work with!

Knights are a bunch of kids and reserve graders playing against men. You can see the way they played in the last 10 minutes that they were primed to lose it. If they stick with Brownie, they will build over the next few years.

I'm a firm believer that good coaches can make the best out of a poor team, but that Knights team is another level down. There's a maximum of 3 players in their starting line up today who would make the starting line of any top teams.

He is a good coach; even Bennett remarked how he had left the club in a good place after his departure in 2008. While Brown obviously won't win a title with the Knights, he will set up a solid foundation for future success in a similar mould to what Paul Roos did with Melbourne in the AFL.

And, for the detractors who denounce Brown as being unable to steer the side to at least a grand final appearance, do you NOT remember how referees Mander and Clarke screwed the Dragons over against the Tigers and Storm respectively in 2005/06?

Brown hands down. He's a great coach. Probably started too young with us but as someone already mentioned he basically built the core of our Premiership team.

The only times I've seen St George win a premiership was with hard nosed no nonsense coaches who took no shit from the players. None of this lot resemble Bath or Bennett in any way shape or form. If pushed I'd go for Barrett only because hes the only one of the three we haven't tried.

On paper, our mid 2000s team was one of the best professional sides ever put together. Anything other than a premiership or more must be seen as an unmitigated failure. Too young or not.

......besides, I couldn't cop Brown, too many bad memories of an underperfoming team.
For god sake at one stage he had 6 or 7 SOO players in the team and couldn't get the job done, no matter how many times he slapped Barret in the face.

I rather save Brownie's mental health and bring him back at the end of next year once our dumb board realise they made an error with McError and pay him out!
