This is my concern also, he has not only the excuse of losing JDB, Cam and K.Sims but he can also point at the 9's success and ride that for all it's worth. In fact I expect him to mention all those factors at his next ( losing coach ) press conference.

Cam was our standout defender, so we will be a lot weaker up the middle unfortunately.

But if Flanno can be left alone to instil some self belief, and Friz re-signs, our forwards can lift.

But if Flanno is given only the same backline personnel as last year (as expected) to work with - and if Friz leaves - we are goners.

From a psychological perspective, if JDB is effectively out until Sept (considering probable trial length etc if postponed), then training with the team would seem counterproductive to me.

Cleanout now and renew the team - and don’t waste the year.

Apparently he hasn’t and that has always been the case . The maestro will indeed play his injured and at the same time have fully fit players carving their initials into the sideline bench .

All I remember of Priddis from that year was that his passing from dummy half was quite often terrible. As soon as Fein was fit, Bennett didn’t waste any time at all getting rid of Priddis and he was never seen again.

AND Fein was seen as good service from D half compared to Young, he was atrocious.

The safety first option is Luke to play hooker with Hunt as backup if he needs a break and Sailor coming off the bench to play 10 minutes in the halves. If you think Mary will do anything else you haven't been watching for the last six years.

This is a tournament that simply is not required. As suggested by other members the format should be changed so as to have only the younger players selected , preferably those from the C.C. teams - give them their moment in the sun .

Our injury toll is horrendous and I will go as far to say very destabilizing at this the very beginning of the new season . Although the reality is that it is not the beginning of the competition proper and that is the point that the NRL should be taking into consideration when they come up with these brain dead ideas .

The players in this ‘ The greatest game of All ‘ are highly tuned athletes commanding extremely high contracts , yet here they are being used as ‘ cannon - fodder ‘ for some lousy 2nd rate hybrid competition that the big boys from the NRL have thought up so as to pull in even more revenue . The season is far too long with this the Nines , the indigenous game , the pre-season and competition itself , not to mention the S.O.S. matches .

I am just so bloody annoyed that the Dragons have suffered these injuries which as I said earlier , will derail any chance of success before a ball has been kicked in the premiership proper , it’s both annoying and demoralizing .

totally agree mate unfortunately League is now all about the $$$$$$$ and the money making suites that keep come up with a new comp to fill in a free weekend , and yet we still cant play each team twice a year because the schedule is so tight.
