They are giving out on average more than 5 medals per ceremony? Or some events have medals but no ceremony? Something does not compute.

I think in weightlifting they give out medals for the snatch, clean and totals. Two bronze medals are given in boxing.

found an interesting webpage. it shows the top 4 or 5 countries on each medal tally of all the commonwealth games since the first one in 1930. australia has won 12 times (including the last 6), england 6 times, and canada 1 time.
