Medical Staff WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

Not only was my issue with the Tigers playing so terrible tonight. HOWEVER there was someone/ a group worst then the players. It was the medical staff of the club.

Firstly, Simon Dwyer who went down in the opening 10 minutes or so, and he was out on his feet...he couldn't walk after he hit a nerve in his shoulder. But the medical staff made him walk 50 metres off the field. The stretcher didn't make an appear until the final 10 metres, I don't know who was in charge of ensuring the stretcher was available. The bad staff didn't end there.

AND, Secondly. Liam Fulton 3-quarters the way through when for a trip to Disneyland and was struggling to hold himself up. He was firstly left to collapse by the trainer and then had to barely walk from the field in the same fashion as Dwyer. He was clearly suffering from a case of concussion, but the trainers forced him to walk under his own stream off the park.

Not only should Tim Sheens be sacked but all the medical staff from that match. I think Andrew Leeds is the head trainer at the club, however the medics involved in the match tonight should look at themselves, because their performance was nothing short of Tigers-like.

Did you ever consider some players refuse a stretcher? I know I did.

Anyone with the slightest medical knowledge understands you do not give a concussed person any input into what is best for their health, and pins and needles / decreased motor function are indicators of a possible spinal injury so he should have been put into a spinal collar on the field and stretchered off the ground. If a spinal injury was present making him walk could have severely increased the damage. The Tigers staff failed miserable in their duty of care and heads should roll.

Humphrey's is on MMM now - he heard them discussing dwyers injury and he called them-

Says originally Dwyer told trainer he had a shoulder injury- Doc came on and said he showed NO signs of concussion so they decided to walk him off then it became apparent that he had peripheral nerve damage and it affected his control in walking - he also had leg spasms

Good news is he confirmed Dwyer is 100% ok in the neck nerve area- just waiting for news on any damage on the shoulder

I cant believe they let this poor bloke walk off ,it should of been apparent to the med staff straight away, that he needed to be stretchered off, what about long term damage .

We have got IMO the worst med Staff in the league...

And that goes for our strength and conditioning we look like a team from the early nineties in terms of body shape and strength always getting monstered in every sense of the game.

None of you guys have got medical background and none of you guys were out on the field so I find it a bit strange that you can lambast the medical staff for their performance. The bloke complained of a shoulder injury, showed no signs of concussion. If you had a broken collar bone, for instance, you'd be walking the exact same unstead way.

Maybe the pins and needles came after he got off the field and there was no sign of neck damage whilst on the field...

You guys are jumping to some powerful conclusions without knowing any of the facts apart from what you see from a distance or on TV or listening to what the commentators have to say that they also see from a distance..

He could barely stand on his own too feet dwyer...I was at the ground, and regardless of medical experience. If the stretcher wasn't needed, they was it, that it magically appeared with the final 10 metres to walk...It's regardless of what the player says, it should be safety first...

Doctor: Your neck is broken, we need to put a neck brace on you
Charlie: Nah mate, she'll be fine

Charlie gets up and neck snaps and he dies.

there is a moral here Charlie, sometimes your opinion means f**k all. When it comes to health, do you tell every doctor you see that you'll be fine.

Leukemia will go away eventually doc.

It's only Cancer

idiotic comment.

I am still a qualified Paramedic, and you are embarrassing yourself trying to justify what happened. You do not have decreased motor function due to a broken collar bone etc As soon as the Paramedics attended him in the dressing room, they did precisely what should have been done immediately - spinal collar and transport to hospital.

makes you wonder about all these other injuries to our players atm if the medical staff mismanage a straightforward neck injury ffs

So are you Charlie. They should have erred on the side of caution.

I don't know your background Charlie, but all the clubs have extensive medical care for these elite atheletes, I don't think the players should have a say?
Besides, when he made the tackle, he snapped back & laid motionless, that alone should have rang alarm bells.
