Miss Finland just got scratched for the Melbourne Cup ;-)

I'm putting 50c each way on whoever draws gates 4, 7 and 11. You may ask why these gates. I'm choosing them because 4 is Cesc Fabregas' number, 7 is Tomas Rosicky's number and 11 is Robin van Persie's number. All of them play for the greatest football club in the world, Arsenal FC. :D

When is the barrier draw?

sirmione drew barrier 20 :( i had a slash at it at 80/1 so here's hoping the barrier won't kill it. its a backmarker anyway so shouldn't be a big issue

i think you are a little confused....you have picked them from order of entry...not the barrier draw that you wanted earlier.

Anyone think the favourites aren't really that much chop?

I for one do. Im tossing up whether to load up on a big triffecta as i really think there'll be some roughies this year get up

For starters, i think that Gallic and Sirimione at odds will run good races. Its just a weak year. Master O'Reilly is good but geez, if that is the favourite...there is something amiss

Anyway what does everyone else think?

i hope someone was following me here. gallic and sirmione have both won at good odds since i posted this. i got on sirmione at 80/1, now in to 12/1!

Bloody hell!!:crazy:
Can't believe they scratched Miss Finland, it probably would have run in the first six in the Melbourne Cup! Theivin bastards stealing my money:( . So far I've had Scorpion and MF drop out, thankfully I've still got Mahler at 20s. Which will win for sure:crazy: .

Nothing like a Dane ran 2nd to Doriemus in 1995, on a bog track, he was never the same horse again.

I know, hard to tell how it will go without any leadup races. It came second in the St Leger(G1) at Ascot a few months ago so it must be pretty good.
There's plenty of horses that can win it this year. I liked Zipping's run yesterday, jockey hauled in front of the stewards for not trying and it still came third from last. Gallic was good in the MV cup. Meh, I think I'll just back Mahler and Zipping and box up plenty in a trifecta.

I usually do a couple of box trifectas with 4 horses.

At this point looking at possible combo's from these horses;
Gallic, Efficient, Master O'Reilly, Purple Moon, The Fuzz, Mahler, Zipping.

I will try to narrow it down by Tuesday morning, weather dependant. If it is wet and track rated heavy and above throw a bit on Sirmione for a place. If it is wet he'll be in all of my boxe trifecta's.

Always get a dozen mystery trifecta's for fun.
