This idiot can gently place my left nut in his gob and suck.

The NRL Grand Final should be in Sydney. Just like their AFL should be in Melbourne.

Certain events have a tradition. If it ever does get moved in the next 30/40 years then Brisbane would have next dibs, not these Victorian wankers.

I thought you were nice, beaver. Are you one of those both sets of gear people? ;-)

Sucking your leftie, technically doesn't make him a wanker.

He doesn't want it to actually watch or embrace the game, Melb just wants it to add to their 'Sports capital of Australia' line.
Exactly. It would be make it play second fiddle to their game.

I know a few people who went to SOO2, they left very dissatisfied. And it actually wasn't because QLD lost. The video was delayed a few seconds, it was hard to see, and the atmosphere was terrible. Stuffing lots of people in doesn't mean bugger all when nobody knows what is actually happening.

Why would we give them the GF when the Lord Mayor publicly ridicules the code, sure string em along if it means getting some more money out of the NSW government but other than that this clown can get stuffed.

If Melbourne can put on a spectacle, give it to them.

What they need is MetallicA.

I cant believe the kings of hard rock have never been approached.

Such a perfect fit.

'Enter Sandman'
'Unforgiven'
'Wherever I may Roam'
'Hero of the day'

Some of the lighter lyriced songs in their setlist.

I water at the thought.

Must be hard to please, for an Australian game the atmosphere was as good as it gets. The atmosphere in city pre game was great, drinking on south bank and federation square was great, place was packed and lots of fun banter going on. We had good seats, no worse than many large stadiums and the facilities at Mcg in our section were brilliant. The light and firework pre show was a lot better than the traditional no name band.

Bit packed walking back to city over the footbridge but I guess with 91,500 people leaving that is to be expected. All in all it was a most enjoyable event even if it did cost me a small fortune.

Ay, would prefer them to have a GF rather than an Origin.

Agree that Melbourne should host the NRL GF every 5 years, could start in 2016, why not?

An MCG GF wouldn't be bad but should be conditional on storm being in the GF and finishing the season higher than their opponent. Queensland and NZ teams can also opt in to take it to a neutral location

Australia? Australia was 10 years ago. Apparently, now they're the "sporting capital of the world."

None of that common sense shit here ol' mate, next thing you'd be imagining a strong WA team

One day the NRL will break from its nswrl mentality and become "Australia's game", the GF will be sold to the highest bidding city as the marquee national event it will become (inc NZ) and take on a super bowl style showcase. Might take another 30 years but it will get there.

Aside from the over saturation of clubs in nsw meaning a gf featuring a nsw team is likely, I see no reason the gf has to be in Sydney. It's not like the NRL is massively popular in the city.

Look, I'm with you in the sense that I want a Perth and Adelaide team in the game, as well as Central Coast and Brisbane II, however, the game in Australia at this level was born in Sydney and this is where League HQ should remain, primarily because of the aforementioned but also because we have the largest Rugby League stadium in Australia... and I won't buy that crap about the MCG turning into a League stadium, because we all know it's not.

I'm surprised that Victorian gimp didn't use Eddie's 'land of the falafel' barb in his rant on Punchbowl. The inferiority complex is as strong as ever

If you weren't convinced that Melbourne is full of self-absorbed dickheads, you are now.

Ummm... how about one of the THOUSANDS of eateries in and around the vicinity of Olympic Park, dickhead?

1 persons opinion is not indicative of 4 million.

I'd love to see the Grand Final in Melbourne..Mostly because I live in Melbourne now and I live 10 minutes walk from the MCG.

I'm actually ashamed of the anti Victorian stance taken here at LU time to time.

When i go to Melbourne ifind the people there5 times friendlier than sydney.
also, they dont rubbish NRL like LU does to AFL.

Its cute, they try and have a conversation about it and try so hard, but you no they have no idea.
'Im into rugby, i go for the nsw blues'

'How good is STATE OF ORIGIN, I LOVE NRL. Jason Smith is a wonderful player'

Just off kiltered statements like that.

A guy in my office goes to one Origin match every year and will be going to the Penrith v Souths game next week despite not knowing too much about the game. He enjoys watching it and is always keen to learn about the game.

I've met many people in Melbourne who are quite open to watching NRL and do so without being negative about it.
