Usually I buy a Kogarah 6 pack but am not sure whether or not I can trust the club again regarding 6 games there.

That annoys me more. The Tigers game was moved and we are left without another Kogarah game. As a member of the SCG, I don't see why I should be paying twice.

Ive been on here for a number of years now and am amazed and touched at some of the stories I hear. Men and women following this club for various reasons and lengths of time. Hardbaby, leaving the club money in his will. Wow.

I don't care whether you buy memberships or not, to me, if you have the V in your heart you're a Dragon.

But as has been said, it doesnt feel like the club is doing enough to show us we mean something to them, and not just statistics and dollar signs. The attitude of the club whenever I personally had a problem, was in the sense of "well we always have someone else that will replace you."

A few people have asked whether those who run the club feel the anguish the fans do, and I think its an interesting question. I think they do. But I also believe it's because they see pathetic performances and it doesn't register for them because they (being Doust and the board, Craig Young etc) seem to be untouchable in their ivory tower predicting a hit to profits. I like the way the club is run in a business sense, we seem to be a stable, reliable license (I f**king refuse to say brand) with decent sponsors and few off field atrocities.

I dont want the club to be like the Tigers, where all our dirty laundry gets aired in public. I dont want us to be like Parra, where they change coaches and boards every 18 months and seem to be chasing their own tails.

What I would like, and would restore my faith that this club is about profits and margins and KPI's etc but also about people, is discounted memberships for next season.

People who love the team, struggle at the best of times to get to games because of cost of living reasons, have to drag their sorry arses out to the SCG instead of Kogarah and have to see that shit? Guys that go interstate, get time off work, usually abandoning extra pay just to see the boys play, what about them? What do we get? "Execution was poor" "Happy with the effort" "We had a really good week at training" (lets have a f**king bad week for once shall we?) "In a moving forward sense" "Both our key demographics" "Red V members, corporate partners and fans" "Red V is a part of me"

All the above, is words, just words. Feed the masses something. Tripe. Actions speak louder than words, always have.

Show us we mean something. I would love for a statement to come from anyone with authority and say "Dear member, to thank you for your support during a difficult time for all associated with this proud club over the last two years, we will be offering a (.....%) discount off your membership should you choose to renew. Times are tough and no one at the Dragons is shying away from the hard work that must be done to achieve results. We need our fans to stick with us. No one can ever deny the passion of a Dragons fan, and its this passion that will help fuel our revival. We are doing what we can, and encourage you to be there to witness the rise of the V."

I'll renew. Some good players coming next year, with luck a new coach and besides all that I just enjoy going to the footy much more than watching on tv. I will be annoyed though if they move games from Kogarah again next year.

Unless the number of games in a season changes we are odds on to drop at least 1 Kogarah game next year.
We will probably lose the Anzac Day game from our allocation and there is always a chance that the long rumoured "bring a game to the country" process will be in place now that Todd "no suburban games, Sterile Stadiums only" Greenburg is pretending to be competent on the NRL's paypacket rather than the trainwreckers.
So I would guess at a 4 or 5 game Kogarah pack at best.
Mix in at least 1 Monday night game and then add a bogus relocation to the SCG or some other shithole and it becomes little more than an expensive ticket to 1 or 2 games with a bonus cap worth less than 50 cents thrown in.
I am curious though, who are the key communities that Doust expects to lap up this shit ?

Roosters would be more apt!

I, for one, will be renewing my membership, going to games, cheering the team, and hating the world if we lose! My team is the Dragons and I'll stay loyal to the club, not Steve Price, Craig Young or Peter Foist, but to the big Red V...I won't throw in the towel based on a couple of lean years!

Its not about throwing in the towel and as Black Forest said, we should all do what we feel is appropriate to inform these idiots of how we feel. We all bleed red and white but we also have the right to protest at what we feel is poor behavior by those that have power. Like an election. You don't like who is in, you do what you can to let them know that and try to effect change. Renewing or not renewing is an option to effect change.
These people at the top in the board and in the coaching staff need to know that we, as supporters who pay their wages in one way or indirectly in another, are unhappy with the current direction and perceived commitment. We have a right to object and voice this.

Renew or not. Send an email or not. Post on these forums or not. Vote at the club or not. Each of us has an obligation to keep those at the top informed of how we feel. Good or Bad. But lets direct that there, not at each other.

I've been a long time lurker on this forum and I have always enjoyed reading the banter between us fellow Dragon supporters. When Steve Price took over, I remember the forum was split on whether we would be successful after the Bennett era. Some members were concerned whether a rookie coach could get the desired results. Add to that the lack of recruitment and the dearth of youngsters coming through, and some genuinely feared that it would be a difficult few years coming up.

The more positive side of the forum often derided these posters and implored everyone to give Price a chance and that management knew what they were doing.

Well lo and behold, it seems the so called "wrist slitters" from a couple of years ago have somewhat been vindicated. I for one hoped that Price knew what he was doing and with the right roster, he would prove himself a worthy coach. I no longer believe this. I was at the game yesterday and what I witnessed was a disgrace.

The tigers are a rabble - the board is split, their star player is disinterested, the captain injured and their coach is halfway out the door. Yet they made us look second rate. And at least they have some great young talent to put their faith in next year. We don't have that luxury and it seems the coach has no idea what to do?

Which begs the question, if half the forum who could predict what was going to happen 2 years ago, how was this allowed to happen for real. Surely there are people smarter than us running the club?

Come on, we don't want people to start thinking we're just fair weather like the Roosters, who have a fan base which we actually bag for being fair weather.

Spot on...I emailed those merkins and they advised it was important to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the 1963 GF...If it was that important then it should have been moved at the beginning of the year. We're not f**king idiots you know.

Understand what u mean, but for some reason we have a softly, softly, touchy, don't offend anyone or speaking out of line... It's been 2 years of the experiment of rookie coach and fringe player signings it's failed. If the bottom line is the only thing Doust and Board will listen too.

From any measure across all 3 grades we have slipped alarmingly from just 3 years ago...how can it go so bad so quickly....'fair weather' I don't think so, needed serious anger management yeaterday....1 hour and 20 ninutes to crawl to SCG from Inner West, then pay $20 to park on grass dust ball, put up with pathetic performance...was like grumpy bear when I got home....more "Effens" then a drunken sailor on Saturday night on R&R!!!

Yes I will because I m a tragic and will always be one, no matter how frustrated I will support the Red V, but 2013 has been one of my most frustrated years. When it started I thought ok we won't win the comp but we have a side good enough to trouble most sides.....the rest is history !!

Puts the current situation into context and proportion. Good post!

Of course. In these bad times I believe it's important to make sure you renew. Look at Parra. They've been awful for years now and have 16k fans or something around that. We should show that kind of loyalty...but I seriously hope we turn the corner soon.

I'd like us to replace the 'spin-method' and the 'softly-softly-touchy-method' with the call a 'spade a spade' method.

It works a treat. Matters get resolved much more quickly.

(i hate that carpark!!)
