The problem (and im just guessing from last years big day as i didnt make it to that one) only happens at the end of the day, during the 2nd last performance. The reason is because people try to get in closer getting ready for the final show. It doesnt happen at other times because people arent getting to the stage so early in preparation.

The problem this causes is what happens at any concert, people who are waiting for something dont particuarlly look kindly at anything that they perceive as delaying it. In this case metallica fans were seeing the Strokes as nothing more than a time waster (bare in mind im expressing the views of others here, i respect people wanting to see something else and i respect that the strokes were more than just a time waster for many), but they are perceived by most, particuarlly full on metallica nuts, much like a support act at any big concert - as nothing more than a delay.

considering that Metallica actually started 15 minutes before they were meant to the strokes were far from being a time waster. Its good u recognise it as a problem though, and its usually why i avoid the mainstage at the end of the night.

i'm still curious why u hate the people from the strokes paullyboy?

Pretty good, but i really went to see Metallica as a reminiscent kinda thing. i'm not really a metalhead anymore, but used to be 6-7 years ago, it was great being able to sing along to all the classics.

They only played Frantic, Dirty Window and St Anger off the new album. Frantic went off, they did stuff up a bit in Dirty Window but it still was good, and as you would expect - St Anger was brilliant!

I dont like the strokes for what was said in a concert back in America. I wasnt on hand but my brother (who lived there at the time) went along out of curiosity and said most of their comments during the show were extremely racist towards their black fans in the crowd (normally someone saying something racist doesnt really bother me, but if thats the way they treat their fans then i have no time for them watsoever.)

Who the hell are sunklotto?(I'm over 30)

They are a local rock/metal band who made it big in about 2000 with their first EP, it got a truckload of airplay on Triple J right before it became a disco music station. Im not sure if they still get played on there though. From memory i think they were all about 16 when they released Sunken Eyes so im guessing they are about 19/20 now

when sunken eyes came out their ages ranged from 15-18 i think.. Now the youngest has just turned 18. Big picture lies did very well, but their new album, between birth and death, in my opinion is a much better album, it shows a lot more talent and maturity.

Metallica were crap, but for some good fireworks. I went to the boiler room for most of the time they were on.
