Impressive how quick this guy fell off. He was great when he was at Penrith and played really well for NSW in the Origin. I haven't seen much of him at Cronulla but he looks to just about be out of the game.

it's not his fault, he's a ball runner who has played well when cronulla actually had halves capable of making a play, without that he's a winger.

Cronulla don't actually need him with Holmes and Barba both on their books as well as Brown and even Gardner

As a neautral, I don't care what happens really but it would seem an odd position. Player appears to want to leave the club, the club are stocked in that position. Theres a suitable taker (Parra). Somehow its not as easy as that?

This.

They also have that young Gagan who has shown some good potential when given a chance. Realistically they could have someone younger and cheaper on the wing performing at a similar level to Gordon(or better) but they are refusing to release him due to a power struggle or some crap. That is really the only story I have heard that makes the slightest bit of sense. Gordon is probably at some fault aswell, walking out doesn't seem to be the best solution here but I don't blame him for not wanting to hang around while Gorman and Flanno play f**king tug-o-war with his career.

You aren't out of a contract until it is torn up. Just as a contract isn't binding if you sign it before round 13 for a rival club, or the money you are talking about being signed for isn't signed off.

Sure he has been mucked around. In the end, he got ahead of himself. All this upset about going from one annual cellar-dweller club to another. He must be pretty mentally weak to get this upset about it all. Get on the paddock and earn yourself an upgrade for next year with another club, don't go crying to mummy about it.

This thread needs some clarity:
1 - When the Barba at 5/8 experiment failed what was the next solution? Play him at fullback, albeit in conjunction with Gordon and Holmes. Probably not ideal but it is what the coach calls.

2 - Gordon plays it out for a few weeks but it gives him the shytes and tells the coach so. The coach replies with "if you dont like it you can efff off". Gordon then sets out to find a new deal.

3 - Gordon finds a new deal but in the meantime two backs, Feki and Lutele get injured leaving a gaping hole in the Sharks backline.

4 - Club decides its not in their best interest to let a good player go that can cover the positions that have recently been lost to injury. Keep in mind that Gagan, who is a very good young player, has been out injured for most of the season with dodgy hammies, and is no guarantee to fill the position that Gordon is taking, winger.Out of who is available, who would you choose to play first grade, Gordon, Sauiluma, Gardner, Brown or Ayshford? Every sane person would choose Gordon.

5 - Gordon is not happy as with the deal he was getting included next year. Problem is he is signed to the Sharks until the end of this year and it is their prerogative to keep him at the club until his contract is finished. They are within their rights to do so.

Sammy S could be a very good first grade player. Just needs more runs on the board. He returns the ball back quite well but his hands were also iffy, not on the same level as Ben Pomeroy though.

& Gordon's manager was quoted as saying he was given permission to look for another club but wasn't given final permission to change clubs.

Hope it's not too late for him to go. Sanity must prevail - he doesn't want to be there & he's getting on, so we shouldn't stand in his way - need to downsize the Dads Army contingent in the team.

Can't wait to hear Kent backtrack in 360, what's the bet he says cronulla apologised to him or something similar

I've been a huge fan of Gordon over the years but even I will admit that he is past it and is on the way out. Such a shame for him if it wasn't for his injuries he would've had a far bigger career.

I still believe someone will sign him up though.

Kent will never backtrack.

No one from news limited ever does.

Cracks me up when they make bullshit stories up & flash it over the front &/or back page.

When it's proven to be bullshit, they apologise in an obscure spot in the paper in a tiny article. e.g. David Warner apology recently.

Scum people, scum paper.
