Eels fans who hate the Storm would be up in arms, but Kearney or Maguire would be a good choice for a new coach.

Problem is though, that new coach, same CEO.

I have a good mate who was a part of the Knights first grade and Premier League set-up and he said that Johns and Budsy basically ran training at the Knights with Fairleigh and Hages looking after a lot of the personel management stuff. There was also talk amongst the squad that they'd be f*cked when Johns and Buderus left as then they would then need a football coach - hence the Knights keeness to be rid of him so early into the 2006 season!!
this has always been my information over that period too. johns in particular pretty much ran the show.

sadly, i pity parramatta fans at the moment. it was time for smith to move on at their club... but they replaced him with a genuine dud.

Still running with that El D? Whilst Smith has never won a comp, he never had players telling him what to do.
lol i reckon. does that translate into "i'd prefer to have my coach run my football team into the ground rather than make them successful"?

You're still wasting your time.
Hagan isn't the one with a team on the verge of the recordbooks in terms of losing streaks.

Be bloody grateful.

Fair point, although Hagan did coach the team that broke that record (albeit temporarily).

I mean, some of it is circumstantial since a few of those losses were games the Knights probably should have won, so perhaps it's not totally black and white, but it still doesn't stack up too well in Hagan's favour.

I'd like to know if Hagan understands what "gameplan" means. And if he does, can someone please explain to him that it's more complex then " Do you what it takes to win".

Agreed , it was time form Brian Smith to move on. The crazy part was that Fitzy had to convince Hagan to leave Newcastle, what a monumnetal error.

I spoke with someone who was with hagan on the weekend, and said he was lost on what to do, "can't get through to the young players", FMD he is dead set embarrassing.

Been said before , but DF was adamant we needed a younger , more player friendly coach, pity he didn't stipulate one with an idea
