Michael Jennings - alleged breach of the anti-doping policy

We need to keep a spot for Jennings in the top 30 and pay him until he is officially uncontracted. If he decides to go to <insert name> court of sport arbitration and it goes on as long as Segayaro, we will need a fill in centre.

I'm thinking Opacic or Ferguson now that we have Haze and Sivo's knees will be mended and (hopefully) his carries are back to 2019 vigor.

Surely after his B sample tests positive we get a spot opened up on our roster?

Am under the impression if he chooses to contest the findings (which can take up to 12 months), he remains contracted and on our cap, however can’t train or play. If he accepts it, well his contract is obviously null and void.

If he fails in his appeal can we have our money back? We should get some type of dispensation. He can’t just take up cap space if his B Sample turns out positive.

Where is that written?

my understanding is yes we can but for the whole process to run its course, takes about a year or more

Jenko thread in the NRL forums discusses this

Also the Xerri thread in the Sharkies forum has some policy info as well

We could theoretically renegotiate his contract. Not sure if the NRL would allow it, plus it’d f**k our cap when we did pay him, but we could pay him nothing during the process then if he is found innocent then essentially backpay him to his current contract.
Could we medically retire him? Like Surgess

If the B sample is +, then Jenko is gone, based on the Shayna Jack decision overnight. Whilst CAS agreed that the ingestion of the drug was accidental, her ban was only reduced from 4 years to 2 years.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed the result of a 2019 out-of-competition test showing Jack had ingested the banned substance Ligandrol, however the CAS said she did so accidentally.

Shayna Jack was basically innocent, so they cut her ban in half

what a f**king joke, its enough to turn people off supplements for good

She isn't basically innocent. She is certainly guilty. There is no question that she ingested a banned substance, which is what makes her guilty or innocent. She just didn't take it on purpose.

Yep it's important that they maintain zero tolerance otherwise you'll have every merkin running with the accident plea. If you're a professional athlete or even moreso earn a living from sport, you really need to take the "my body is a temple" mantra very seriously.

Like manslaughter v murder.

Intent is the diference... and the sentence.

yeh I know, it just sucks what she has been through, she has basically lost her career because of the contaminated supplements through no faults of her own

I've followed this from day 1 and she is about the first 1 ever to not be on the juice, yet she still suffers for it, its totally unfair and has cost her a career

she'll be back middle of next year but at 22 she is well past her best and she will need to start training from scratch like a 15 year old
