Nobody has said that have they? In any case, while it might be true in this instance, I thought was common knowledge that players give each other lip service. It's especially comical around state of Origin time when overlooked NSW halves say that selectors were right to go with their positional rivals. Farah is the only person with a big enough Ego to publicly argue he himself is the best choice.

The OP is right btw.

It's the greatest play in GF history. A sneaky salute to Kyle Feldt, too. It all started with that strip on Hunt. And don't underestimate JT breaking free of those two tackles after picking up a hospital pass and STILL having the composure to look up and find the right man in space. That's why he's a future Immortal.

Three miraculous plays in the space of 45 seconds. God does exist, and he's from north of Mackay.

Yeah you're right about JT. He could have easily panicked and chucked the ball to anyone or put up rushed kick and prayed like someone else said. 'Composed' is the right word.

Don't you know the growing trend? Switching teams is all the rage on LU.

Go Raiders!

Friend! You need some coaching in the science of bandwagoning. The idea is to jump on a team that is UPWARDLY mobile. If you time it right you don't have more than a season for a grand final.

been one of my favourite players for a while, whenever he got an opportunity he looked the goods. That try he scored against the Broncs a few seasons back where he grubbered for himself and regathered got me hot and bothered. Never got to see him play the lower grades, maybe he was always a gun

I've been a fan ever since that hat trick he scored against the Broncos.

It's hard to see why they persisted with Robert Lui over him.

Absolutely the last try was 100% Morgan. Epic stuff. He should never have to buy a drink in Townsville again.

Morgan had composure to. He received the ball with 3 defenders in front of him. Most young halves panick and go for the miracle kick. Morgan instead skipped to the outside and beat the 1st man, drew 2 others and then the perfect flick pass. I thought at the time 'what the f**k is doiingggh ohh holy shit how good was that! !!'

big hit!

It was a play for the ages. good that he came up with it. he had a mare of game up until that moment in my opinion. gave away a few penalties and was outplayed by Milf for mine. that really doesn't matter now though.

Morgan set up the winning try. Granville set up the two tries before that. Thurston cost his side a try with his lost ball - wins Churchill medal?

JT is a champion, no doubt, but no way was he the best player on the park. Milford was better even.

Putting aside the piss on Pearce game that's always a fun way to kill time, it really is alarming the amount of quality halves that either play for QLD or NZ. As bad as Pearce is, it's not like there's anyone banging down the door.

Was watching a replay last night and watched that last try over and over again. It gave me a bit of a different take on it.

What actually happened is that as soon as Morgan got the ball he had an overlap. It was Morgan/Lowe/O'Neill/Feldt vs Milford/Reed/Oates. Thurston actually does deserve a lot of credit because he sucked in so many defenders and the Broncos were caught short. I think the most culpable was Parker, who rushed out of the line on Thurston at the last second and did absolutely nothing.

Lowe didn't really do anything, he hardly even bothered supporting, but his initial presence was enough to cause the overlap. Jack Reed was pulled in and O'Neill got too far outside him. It actually looks very different from front-on (they showed a replay from this angle after the try) as opposed to from the normal TV angle, as the normal angle creates the illusion of shortening the areas closer to the sideline.

From the normal angle it looks like Reed maybe has O'Neill covered but if you look at it from the better angle, O'Neill is a long way outside Reed. If Morgan had simply shifted the ball to O'Neill he probably could have drawn Oates and passed to Feldt for a simple try.
