It's official ladies and gentleman... Michael Robertson is an average, average player made to look good by being a part of a champion team. He was absolutely woeful today against France, committing no less than 6 glaring mistakes that a schoolboy would be admonished for making. He offered absolutely nothing in either attack or defence, and the way he let a 40/20 ball trickle over the sideline when he had ample time to get to it was, to put it lightly, bewildering.

He has been found out big time, and I would expect him to be looking over his shoulder with the likes of Tony Williams heading to the Silvertails next year.

And to think Mark Geyer called for his inclusion in the Australian squad!

What you say may be true, but I suppose his premiers ring will always be a nice reminder as to why he got the f**k out of Canberra.

ahahahha f**king pwned. Another upset raiders fan cause they want him back . They put him at fullback. Michael Robertson is not a fullback. Skeepe your a genius.

Also whats with everyone talking about Tony Williams even going near our wing spots. Des will NOT put him there and he has stated this.

tony williama is not a winger. micheal hagan thinks he is but he is not, and des will not put him anywhere near the wing. So I dont think robbo will be looking over his shoulder, him and wolfman have their spots nailed down for next year at the very least after a great year.

He played out of position, and had one ordinary game... Overreact much?

Maybe he's sick of the double standards for players on this forum.

For example

Origin 2: Steve Turner has an absolute shocker and everyone is calling him the worst origin player ever etc

Now Robertson has one bad game and he wants to bag him and everyone gets all precious.

GRAND Final hero Michael Robertson says he has landed back to earth with a resounding thud after his Scotland debut ended in a gallant loss to France.
Fellow former Canberran Jerome Guisset stole the ball off the Manly winger in-goal to score the decisive try - his second - with six minutes left as France held off the pesky Bravehearts' repeated comebacks to triumph 36-18 after leading 18-6 at halftime in pool one.
"It kind of brings you back down to earth,'' Robertson told The Daily Telegraph after consoling with a host of relatives in the stands. "Scoring three tries, you're at the highest of the high winning the Grand Final. Playing in a World Cup is a tremendous experience.
"But playing like s..t isn't. I wasn't that happy with my game. I'll have to improve for the boys and help them out next week.''

Robertson's night started poorly when he fielded a kick at fullback, beat two defenders and was summarily stripped of the ball in a three-man tackle. Kiwi referee Leon Williamson ruled play-on.

"I had a few words to him about that and I don't think he was too happy,'' he said.

The decisive play came when France hooker Julien Rinaldi kicked into the in-goal and Robertson fielded the ball - and was then stripped by captain Guisset.

"I was trying to hit the deck and he one-on-oned me. He's a big strong man,'' a disconsolate Robertson said. "That pretty much buried us after I did that.''

Really? - you would of thought 30 games of an NRL season would of done that and a grand final on the biggest stage of all - not a circus run in a circus town where both teams are going to get pummelled when coming up against the big teams (if they are game to rurn up) - so if anyones been found out - its you!!:D

, love the comments after 1 bad game. Skeepey boy better hope that Campo has a blinder in his debut after having a crack like this

I will always remember Lockyers International Debut, was probably the worst you will ever see a fullback play

No one is debating the claims of the players to be in the rep teams (obviously Turner didn't deserve his spot and Robinson did), but Turner was selected much like Robinson and both played like sh*t, one gets sh*t heaped on him for the rest of the year and the other people dismiss it as jealousy when a fan tries to give him some stick.

People were ridiculing Turner's selection before the match was played. Big difference. Turner would probably be close to the worst origin player ever. Most of the criticism was warranted.

I'm not a Manly fan and hardly rate Robertson, but the original poster still sounded to me like he had a serious axe to grind.

The interesting thing for me from this match was the very average aussies selected in both teams were arguably the worst!

Robertson for Scotland

Wilson etc for France offered nothing (though Wynne did have a good game)

All i can think of is that the Coaches have this kind of instant theory that anyone with an aussie accent is better than someone else!
