Sacking the coach isn't the answer, the Australian team is simply full of very average cricketers who can't win anything because they lack the skill. Its not the management, its the guys on the park.

To dump the coach now is just hopeless.

Great news, it's terrible timing, I would've sacked him after the Ashes (Which we're almost guaranteed to get spanked in), this way Boof starts off losing, which isn't great as a new coach.

At least it gets Arthur off the selection panel, now we just need to get rid of Inverancid and we'll be great.

To an extent, however the application of the batsmen is pretty unforgiveable, and that comes back to the coaching set up IMO. A better disciplined side doesnt play as badly as we did in India.

He's an excellent choice and will improve your team enormously.

But he'll still need help from Sutherland and particularly the selectors.

Please not Darren Berry, absolute plonker.

Lehmann seems a decent option.

At the end of the day though a coach only does so much, the players have to take on some responsibility, something too few of them seem to do.

:lol:Darren Berry. The very reason why Shane Warne never liked Adam Gilchrist, as he wanted his good old Victorian buddy as wicketkeeper in the national side.

In terms of domestic coaches, Lehmann would have to be the front-runner at the moment. If we do have to look for an outside coach, Stephen Fleming would be my first pick. Always liked him as a captain, and managed to end the ODI careers of the Waugh brothers during the 2001/02 summer:lol:

FMD give me a 90 year old Bob Simpson.

He's 77 atm, but seriously they could offer him a hell of a lot more than what his pension payments currently are to get him out of retirement.

EDIT: I just read Lehmann has officially been named as the replacement. Good selection. I'm happy with that.

Just bloody stunning.

Lost for words about how badly cricket Australia is being run.

He should have been punted after that homework debacle. In fact he should never have been hired. Australian cricket does not lack home grown options.

Now pat Howard and Sutherland must follow him after the ashes.

Sack Howard and use that money to bring back McDermott.

No surprise that our fast bowling attack gelled very well under McDermott's tutelage during the 2011/12 summer, and bowled with consistency. No surprise things slowly gravitated back to what they were before after McDermott left.

Can't win anything? GTFO

We are still ranked no 4 in test cricket and are actually only a few points behind 2nd.

Whilst are stocks are much lower than in the past its not at the level where we arent capable of winning tests.

How much of that high ranking is part of the hangover from when Australia used to be great?

Honestly I think the current team (unless with a fit Michael Clarke) would struggle to beat the entire top eight except the West Indies. The presence of Clarke still won't be enough for most away games and anywhere against England and South Africa.
