That doesn't sound very likely mate. If he's not locking scrums why is he called the lock?

THe are all halves so 6 half halves means 3 in the spine. That's what other teams have too!

On the big sports breakfast today, they interviewed Benny Ikin and talking about Gallen. Ikin said Gallen was playing like another half in the middle of the field setting up players and linking to the backs.

That's right. Not every team plays with an extra half in the 13 jersey but it is on the rise. When Sutton wore 13 this year he had more touches than the 6 and 7.

There's no need for only two halves, just like there's no need for two props and a lock. There is no reason to see your halves as halfback/five-eighth. Merkins that only see things that way are being constrained by tradition.
