Another thing

What's the G O with the dork brigade not wanting experienced SOO, International, premiership winning players at the club.

Oh, that's right, they don't fit the fluff cake model.

Infected by the corrupted NRL media who talk about the players that attract hits&clicks on the web.. new names are more exciting to them than reliable journeymen or people past their 2 season hype cycle, it's infuriating

Zero Tackle suggests 750K.

Tamou is baulking at negotiations with Panthers.

Not sure I'd want to throw 750 at him, think we could get him for less. Panthers have Hetherington coming back and a pretty good pack. Need to even it out from a cap perspective so probably offering unders.

He's what 32 this year, so the max term of his contract would be a 2 year deal you'd imagine. Woods is off contract next year, no guarantee they'll keep him ? Though the way Bomber gushes over him he'll prob stick around, and he has been pretty solid this year.

Yeah I did forget Franklin. Crikey. The boy is beastly

Sure is.

I'm presuming he's in the plans. He played two trials in the one day this off season. For the Flegg team against Manly at Henson, then later that afternoon against Manly at Kogarah. Scored a try.

Need to be mindful off too much youth in the pack, look at the Broncos. You need some experienced war horses in the middle for when things get tough.

He is playing well at the moment with a red hot side.... prior to that meh... I get the journeyman appeal but 750k + - big money gamble

I never really liked tamou, thought he got picked in some rep games at expense of some better Sharks players . However Penrith this year is coming out the gates at 100 mph and maintaining the rage for the full 80. Tamou is certainly not disgracing himself in the side .. Was impressed with interview he did on the radio couple weeks back too . I think we have some impact forwards already ... Maybe Rudolph will develop or bring back an offload and fix defence issues given some time and BHU and talakai and others will cover Fifitas multi talented roll. So i would be happy to see prop of Tamous experience in the Sharks colours.

Speculation that because we are putting a feeler out for Tamou that we must be considering punting Fifita I can't see big Andrew going anywhere.

Who will we have in that category next year - Woods, Fifita, BHU, Hunt, Rudolph, Williams, Talakai. Is Tamou an upgrade on any of them? Probably, if we can get him cheap then maybe, but I would rather sign someone like John Asiata.

He’s definitely in Bombers plans Tiger Shark.

Heard Bomber doing an interview on 2SM Talkin Sport a few weeks back and he was asked what young players could we see coming through in the next year or two that we may of not heard of and he mentioned a goal kicking fullback whose name I can’t remember and the other was Franklin Pele.

Fifi said he could retire medically in the off season but wasn't ready to do so. If he does I wouldn't want a like for like salary replacement. Give me a 500k prop like Jack Hetherington who is kicking about on 400 currently and get me a up and coming 18-20 year old fullback.

Fifita no matter what happens needs to be apart of the club. The young players adore him. He brings people together. We need to get Luke Lewis around the joint more. We need to make sure these kids are around leaders.

Hetherington sails close to the wind but f**k I love his aggression. He actually reminds me of a young Matt Prior.

I guess the Panthers see players like him as the future and that is why they are not meeting Tamou’s salary demands for another contract.

Couldn’t agree more with the last paragraph. You look at the panthers and the Roosters coaching box and then you look at ours. I’m sure gallen or a couple of them were in the plans to hang around a bit more until covid?

Nice.

Maybe the fullback was that Siteni Kautomo they just signed for 4 years. Fullback and kicks goals.

Only other fullback could be Jonaiah Lualua but not that impressed with him and you'd imagine he'd be part of the training group now as he's the same age as Jensen and Ronaldo.

The only reason you bring in someone like Tamou at 32 years of age is if you think we can win a premiership in the next 2 seasons. Is that a realistic option? I’m not so sure and he is a downgrade on Fifita.

I thought Fifita looked better in his last couple of games. It was like he'd conceded that he has no leg drive anymore but he was compensating by fending like a mofo and delaying getting wrapped up. His post-contact metres in his last full game (vs Titans) were as good as anyone on the team.

Yes to Tamou for me. Big, experienced player and would do nothing but good for guys like Hunt, Talakai, Rudolf etc. Get him in for one maybe two years max and, provided its for a lot less than 750 or whatever is being thrown around in here and you’ve got a deal.

Players and coaches and footy staff always think they can win a premiership. Always! That's why they compete. They don't think like fans

He hasn't played test or Origin since 2016.

He's passed his best and won't be cheap. He's exactly the type of signing we don't want.

I think the new faster game has decreased the value of front rowers imo, plenty of young, fit, fast mobile front row types around the game, yes there are some that are worth the extra money but the days of tying up big amounts of salary cap on 1-2 front rowers is crazy. The value of the spine is now more important than ever. Melbourne, Roosters have been doing it for years
