Today he writes complaining the SBW has signed a deal with Channel 9 to help keep him League. He brings Johns up again. He then goes onto say that the NRL didn't help the Broncos keep Sailor and Tuqiri by organising them deals with Channel 9.

He then even says "Even if the NRL wanted to help, they couldn't because Channel 9 is a sponsor of the Broncos"

So why say that the NRL should have helped you if they helped others. But then say they can't help you anyway?

Anyway Sailor has the personality of a wooden door and Tuqiri is a bit on the dumb side, so they wouldn't appeal to 9 anyway.

Coleman has shown himself to be an idiot many times, but in this case when he complains that the NRL should do something, and then shows that he knows why they can't in the same article, is a joke (at least the last time he brought up the NRL not helping the Broncos keep players line, he didn't say he knows why they can't). It seems that Coleman is only interested in bagging the NRL for being anti-Broncos. Even if it means making stuff up.

But he knows that can't happen. Same as NBN Newcastle can't offer contracts to Newcastle players (without it coming under the Knights cap), NBN Newcastle can offer players from any other club contracts, and they won't come under the cap.

It's not a double standard at all. The rule is clear. A player can have any contract/sponsorship they want without it coming under the cap, as long as that company does not sponsor the club.

If you start allowing players to have contracts with companies that also sponsor the club you may as well scrap the salary cap.
