lotm said:if i'm not mistaken, he said exactly the same thing in his press conference - giving him enough time to compose and control himself. his excuse about ch9 shoving a camera and microphone in his face just before the match ended holds no water, especially considering the press conference was the time at which he called for the referee to be dropped.

He didn't... he made a point that the NRL expects him to help promote the game and speak to the media, but then when he is in the middle of a heated emotional match they throw a mike under his nose and expect him to be diplomatic...

so what you're saying is that his ego got in the way of doing the right thing? not only did he reiterate what he said to ch9, but he compounded it by claiming that the ref be dropped.strong_latte said:He did reiterate after the match in the post match press conference, but only because he knew the damage was already done and that if he were to back down he would look weak.

and i honestly don't think it was a hollow threat. i believe that, if he did get fined for his derogatory comments, he would seriously contemplate not attending press conferences.

He's a shot of him from a recent episode.

"that that was the worst team I have ever reffed, they are not first grade standard and should be dropped from the competition"
If a ref has a bad game they should be held accountable, same way you and me are if we do not perform at work.
